Ignorance can be bliss but not when you are traveling to an unknown place. It is important to know the do's and the don'ts of the place. Depicting nature at its best, Mussoorie is a small place that is easy to explore. Few things that you need to keep in mind while moving around in Mussoorie are:

  • Weather

    The Queen of Hills welcomes you with a very pleasant weather in the summer and provides the best refuge from the scorching heat. Cotton clothes will do the needful but it is advised that you carry light winter clothing as you might require them when you go to places that are at a relatively higher altitude.

  • Altitude

    Are you prone to motion sickness? If yes then make sure that you carry a medicine for it as Mussoorie has roads that are carved from the hills making them curvy with sharp turns.
    Let this not be a trip spoiler and take necessary precautions. It is also better to avoid eating before embarking on your journey uphill and downhill to avoid sickness.

  • Hotels

    During the peak seasons Mussoorie sees a huge inflow of people, to soak in its mesmerising beauty. Finding a place to stay can be a cause of concern and specially if its an impromptu trip so it's advised that you call up the hotels and make booking in advance.

  • Parking

    If you are seeking the comfort of your own car and plan to drive to Mussoorie then make sure that you reach on time as it gets difficult to find a parking due to the rush. From 7:00am to 11pm the entry on Mall Road is charged INR 100. You can park your car at Library Private Parking, Library MDDA Parking or Picture Palace Landour Market Road MDD Parking.

  • Shopping

    A good news for the shopaholics! The market in mussoorie open at 10:00am and close around 11:00pm in the night. giving you ample time to explore and examine the stuff you want to purchase. It is advisable to carry some loose cash as some of the local shops do not accept credit cards.
    Don't just get allured by the beauty of the items, remember to bargain the best you can, as every penny counts!

  • Dining

    Exploring this storehouse of natural beauty and its enchanting surroundings can make you lose track of time. If your stomach is rumbling with hunger and its late, do not worry as you will find restaurants here open till midnight.
