What are the various activities that one can enjoy in Mussoorie?

This familiar line from Leisure, a beautiful poem by William Henry Davies, very rightly stresses the importance of finding time for oneself and enjoying life. All you need to do is find out some time, the rest will be taken care of. If Mussoorie is on your mind, here are a few fun filled activities that you can enjoy in this land of nature's treasure.


  • Paragliding

    Why should birds have all the fun? If you've always wanted to soar high in that seamless, blue sky then paragliding will set you rolling. On your way to Mussoorie stop at Mussoorie Lake where along the lake you can enjoy the wonders of Paragliding.

    You will be assisted by a instructor and charged around INR 500 to INR 800 depending on the distance. Safety shouldn't be your worry as complete care and precautions are taken. close your eyes and imagine the breathtaking views that you'll get to relish once you are in the open sky with the beautiful land beneath.

    Just muster up some courage and you'll have the vast blue expanse to explore!

  • Trekking

    Mussoorie offers so much for a nature lover that trekking up the routes will be the best way to explore and honour mother nature for its wondrous creation. There are various treks available in Mussoorie, from easy, moderate to treacherous ones which would require the company of professionals. It would be a thrilling experience to trek through Surkanda Devi Trek, Jharipani Falls, Gun Hill, Bhatta Falls and Nag Tibba to name a few.

    Don't forget to carry your sport shoes as they will come handy. Also
    avoid trekking during monsoon as the area becomes prone to landslides and also the road roads get slippery.

  • Skating

    Mussoorie hosts India's largest roller skating rink. If you are good at balancing, do try your hands at skating here. Give your feet wheels, the body a swirl and you'll feel the adrenaline rush giving you a pleasant high. To experience such a pleasure there are many skating rinks in Mussoorie. Jaypee Resort's skating rink, The Rink in Kulri Bazaar and Disco Skating Rink behind Tourist Office are the popular ones.

    Be careful when you take your kids for skating as it can be a little difficult to get it in the first time. Don't worry about the rest, the organisers will provide you with enough safety measure.

  • Horse Riding

    The steep roads of Mussoorie can make your knees hurt, but this cannot be a hindrance in your much planned trip. Give your legs a rest and enjoy a horse ride giving you an effortless pleasure of relishing the pristine beauty of the place.

    The horse ride is charged INR 100 for 2.5 Km though you can try your luck at bargaining. The popular routes are
    Camel's Back Road, Landour, Gun Hill and Company Garden.

    Sideline all your worries, just relax and enjoy your horse ride across the enchanting surroundings of Mussoorie.

  • Ropeway

    Your trip to Mussoorie will not be complete if you do not enjoy a ride in the Cable Car. It is a five minutes ride from Jhulaghar to Gun Hill with guaranteed fun. From the cable car you can get a bird's eye view of Mussoorie and the places around, looking like a small fairyland decorated by God with his own hands.

    The ticket for cable care is priced at INR 75 for a round trip. Make sure you reach on time as there are long queues. It operates from morning 10:00 to evening 6:00.

  • Boating

    Mussoorie has a little for everybody. For the water enthusiasts it offers boating options with guaranteed fun and frolic. Pedal your way from one end to the other of the lake, or simply roll along the soft currents of the lake. Soak in the panoramic beauty of the surrounding valleys.

    Mussoorie Lake, Mist Lake and Company Garden are the three popular boating spots charging INR 70 per person. Choose the boat that fits your fantasy and marvel in the enchanting surroundings
