While zeroing in on a destination for your next holiday is a huge task, deciding your mode of transport is another mammoth task in itself! If the top thing in your bucket list is a trip to Bikaner, let me help you decide what is the best way to reach this place! Ain’t I the best?

  • Air

As of today, there is no airport in Bikaner. If you still want to fly, you can take a flight to Jodhpur, from where you can take a cab, bus or train to Bikaner. The cab will cost you INR 6000 for 4 persons and it will take 4 hours to cover the 250 km distance.

  • Rail

Being a tourist favourite, Bikaner is fairly well connected to the rest of the country. You can take a train to the Camel Country from Punjab, Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur. If you don't find your city among these names, don't worry! Simply take a chuk chuk gaadi (train!) to Jodhpur, from where you can easily take a connecting train to your destination.

Make sure you don't have a lot of gap between the connecting trains to reach Bikaner quickly! But then again, a long gap is a good reason to extend your vacation and explore Jodhpur as well. When in the train or on the station, keep an eye on your luggage, a sanitiser handy and only drink packaged water!

  • Road

If you like to drive and don't mind long journeys in the company of crunchy snacks and good music, you will love the drive to the Camel Country. Endlessly stretching golden sands dotted with Keekar trees and thorny bushes, a camel or two lazily grazing about or a lone nomad traversing endless ways to mystical places are common sights that will greet you on the ride.

Bikaner is well connected by bus, with a number of government run and private buses scurrying between it and major cities.
Delhi, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jaipur see a lot of buses to Bikaner. If you don't mind shelling out a little more money, taking a luxury bus to Bikaner is recommended to beat the heat and the dust.

Isn’t it amazing to know how easy it is to reach Bikaner? Thank God for technology (and us for helping you decide!).
