Nestling in the small Himalayan country of Nepal, Kathmandu beckons tourists from far and near. Adventurous mountaineers, well heeled honeymooners, and budget travellers looking for cheap overseas travel - all flock to Kathmandu. Quite naturally, the destination abounds with hotels and other accommodation facilities covering all budgets. A word of caution though! Don't fall for the tall stories of over friendly agents on the street who promise to get you unbelievably attractive hotel deals. Do your own research. Here is some humble advice from an old hand on Kathmandu hotels.

A good place for accommodation hunting is the Thamel area as this is where most of the hotels are located. Take a look at some of the most popular Kathmandu hotels from different categories.
