Planning for a family holiday since long time? If everybody around you seem in a vacation mood then it’s time for you as well to pack your bags and head for an exciting and memorable getaway. Dehradun promises you one with its natural charm, scenic views, beautiful temples and lovely people. The capital city of Uttarakhand makes for a fantastic vacation and it is recommended that you should plan a 3-day trip for Dehradun as there are so many things which are worth exploring. Here is a whirlwind tour:

  • Day 1

Once you are done with your arrival and other basic necessities related to any vacation, then it’s time to plan a day trip. To start with, you can visit the popular Robber’s Cave (Near Dehradun Bus Stand), which is a splendid natural attraction. The next must visit is Sai Darbar Temple (Rajpur Road) which is a famous pilgrim site. The next stop could be Tapkeshwar Temple (Garhi Cantt Area), a popular temple in Dehradun. We think that would be enough for the day.

  • Day 2

Start your day with some divine intervention at Laxman Siddh (Lachhiwala Forest), a famous religious site in the city. If possible plan to visit the temple on Sunday as every week, you will be happy to take part in the weekly fair that is held there. Now, it’s time to make your way to the Forest Research Institute (P.O. New Forest), which is a haven for nature lovers. Another interesting option worth exploring is The Kalinga War Memorial (Sahastradhara Road) which was built by the British to honour the brave Gurkhas. Taking your journey a step forward, visit the beautiful Sahastradhara, an exotic picnic spot which is at a short drive from Dehradun.

  • Day 3

Enjoy a full day sightseeing trip to Mussoorie which is an hour drive from Dehradun. Visit the famous Mall Road, beautiful Company Garden and exciting Gun hill point and you will be back with some cherishable memories.

It sounds interesting, isn’t it? Well, reading is not enough; you have to explore all this by yourself.
