If you are pondering over the best time to visit Bangkok, here’s the simple answer - November to February. Bangkok dazzles with a delight of its own during the time and the weather allows sightseeing to your heart’s content. Take a look at the weather report to know what makes it the perfect time:

  • Summers

Come March, and the sun god starts to send some really glowering waves down Bangkok. Temperatures seem to soar endlessly until May, with the heat often getting oppressive. Hot and wet are two inherent characteristics of Bangkok summers. But there’s a bright side too, for you can save a lot. Airlines and hotels dole out enormous off season discounts. Moreover, mid April brings an assault of festivity for it’s time for Songkran or the Thai New Year. Similarly, the month of May heralds the colourful Royal Ploughing Ceremony.

  • Monsoons

Monsoons stretch from about June to September and brings lashings of torrential downpours. Usually, the months of August, September and October witness the heaviest rainfall. If you don’t mind walking the soppy streets and have a pair of rubber boots ready, it’s a great time for a budget trip to Bangkok. June is certainly the best time for a monsoon visit, as rainfall is not all that frequent and summers start giving way to a more comfortable weather.

  • Winters

Starting from November and continuing till February, winters lend a soft shiny buzz to the streets of Bangkok. Mild sunshine sets the ball rolling and months of festivities become the order of the day, with Christmas and New Year. Come November and it’s time for Loi Krathong that sees millions of little boats made of banana leaves and laced with candles and joss sticks floating down the glistening waters of Chao Phraya as tributes made to the Water Goddess. Booking air tickets and hotel rooms well in advance can help you save a lot, for prices soar up with the advent of winters.

To enjoy your holidays to the fullest winters are certainly the best time at Bangkok. Nothing like rowing through the place in a boat decked with flowers and incense, with the pleasant sunshine setting the waters aglow and a soothing breeze ruffling your hair.
