The magnificence of Gwalior is complemented by the seasons it witnesses year after year. The extremes of weather seem to not diminish but magnify its grandeur. Let us have a look at how the weather-gods behave here.

  • Summer

The months between March and June experience scorching heat. The temperature may go as high as 47 degree Celsius. The average daily temperatures vary between 33 degrees to 35 degrees. It is advisable to avoid this heat and not visit this place during these months.

  • Monsoon

The months between July to October are quite humid. August is the wettest month with about 310 mm of rain and the spell of monsoon continues more or less till the arrival of winters.

  • Winter

The temperature of Gwalior does not plummet lower than 5 degree Celsius normally in the months of winters, that is between the months of November to February. The highest it can go is upto 15 degree Celsius. Woolens are therefore a must during these months here.

Leaving out the month of January, which is exceptionally cold here, the winter season (October, November, December, February, March) is a suitable time to coming knocking on the doors of Gwalior. Do remember to pack in appropriate winter clothing.
