The best time to visit Bangalore is between October and February. The pleasant weather in Bangalore has always worked like a green signal for travellers planning a trip to this city. And when you compare it to the scorching heat of the plains and other southern states it does feel like sitting in an A/c all the time.

  • Summer

April to June are the summer months in Bangalore. The temperature reaches up to a maximum of 35 degrees. It’s not as hot as it is humid. But it is still better than the heat of the other southern states. Carry along short and loads of t shirts in this weather. You tend to perspire a lot so quick showers and change of clothes will definitely help. Unless you are visiting a religious place wearing casual shorts, t shirts and tank top etc. is not a problem. Just pack cotton clothes and anti perspirant and you are good to go.

Since college admissions take place during summer time here, it is advisable to book your tickets well in advance to get a seat and a good deal. Trains, buses and planes are usually jam packed and the areas around educational institutions are usually crowded with heavy traffic.

  • Winter

From October to February it’s winter time in Bangalore. It’s nice and pleasant with temperatures oscillating between 15 degrees to 25 degrees. Carry comfortable cotton clothes if you traveling during this season. Throw on a light jacket or shawl for the evenings when it gets slightly chilly with the cool wind. While travelling you’ll always see the locals either wearing a windcheater or a stole.

Winter season also brings along a couple of festivals like Udupi Paryaya, Classic Dance festival and of course Christmas. The weather here only double the joy of the festive season.

  • Monsoon

It starts to rain in Bangalore from June to August. Temperatures don’t go too low but the frequent showers might get you stranded. Carry along an umbrella and wind cheater if you are planning your trip to Bangalore during the monsoons. Wear bright colours and fabrics that breathe during the rain. These will keep you happy and at ease. A pair of waterproof footwear won’t be a bad idea too!

Travelling is a bit of a menace in the rain and so it is not the best time to visit Bangalore.

With a cool climate with whiffs of the occasional calm breeze, Bangalore is a nice place to visit any time of the year. The only negative about the weather is that the change of season brings along cough and cold and little allergies. You might want to carry your little medicine kit for this one.
