: Jammu has a subtropical climate, which makes the region very hot in summer and cold during the winter. The beauty, charm and the eagerness to visit a place has the power to overcome these barriers and the next thing a tourist realises is that he or she has actually booked the tickets and is on the road to Jammu. But its always better to chart out things in advance including the best time to visit.

  • Spring

Sparkling water, greenery all around and colourful flowers- nature comes alive during March and April, making this the ideal time to visit Jammu. As the temperature slightly increases, ranging between 20 and 30 degrees celsius, witness the melting snow and the change of Jammu from pure white to fresh green. Pack light woolens and cotton clothes for this weather. If you are visiting a little bit early, join the locals in celebrating Lohri and welcome the Jammu spring in the local way.

  • Summer

When hundreds of pilgrims come together for the holy Amarnath yatra, chanting the name of Lord Shiva, a certain frenzied vibe is produced that will make you forget the over-45 degrees celsius temperature, the sticky monsoon and join them in their worship. Visit Jammu between May to August and be ready to experience the ultimate worship of the popular Hindu god. Book your tickets and start chanting Shiva Shiva!

  • Autumn

Tinted with golden and orange hues, Jammu during September and October cools down to 20- 30 degrees celsius. The pleasant weather is complemented by the orange tinted fallen leaves, making a rustling sound as the autumn winter blows. The whole region bears a golden colour as the season progresses and more leaves start covering up the ground. Don't forget to take your camera as you will be searching for it once you see the mesmerising sight. And, again, light woolensand cotton clothesare recommended.

  • Winter

If you love anything white, you will fall in love with Jammu winter, which starts from November and ends in February. Winter in Jammu, though harsh and cold as thetemperature drops below 5 degrees celsius, is a beauty that many people want to experience. If you are one of them, brace yourself with the warmest clothes, gloves andboots included, and make the best use of the pristine white snow.

Every season is unique in Jammu and exudes a charm of its own. The various colours of Jammu never fail to attract and mesmerise travellers irrespective of the time of visit. So, don't let the constraint of time compromise with your most desired season.
