If you are a little apprehensive about the climatic conditions of Kalimpong and want to know more about it as your are planning your next trip to this beautiful destination, then it's time you put all your worries to rest. Kalimpong is wrapped in pleasant weather all through the year, whether its summer, monsoon or winter. A sneak peek:

  • Summers

March marks the advent of summer in Kalimpong and it lasts till the month of May. The temperature is quite pleasant, ranging between 12°C Min to 20°C Max. As the weather is fairly balanced during summers, you don't have to carry lots of woolens with you but don't forget to make space for some light winter wear as you might need them during night. The days are bright and sunny so always keep a suntan lotion with you as you hardly want to come back with a tanned skin.

  • Monsoon

Monsoon starts from June and goes on till September. It is not very advisable to undertake this trip during monsoon as the place witnesses heavy rains which lead to landslides and road blockages. Be prepared to spend most of your time in your hotel room and don't forget to take along your favorite albums and books with you. Since conveyance in not easily available and roads become slippery in the mountains, sightseeing could become a tiring effort.

  • Winters

November marks the start of winters in Kalimpong and the normal temperature range is 15°C max to 0°C minimum. The days are sunny and bright, but nights could be really chilly. Don't forget to carry your snuggly woolens (Shawls, cardigans and socks) with you.

March to May and September to November are the best months to visit this scenic hill town. Be it a family vacation, a weekend getaway or a honeymoon trip, Kalimpong awaits you with open arms. Happy Holidaying!
