What is the history of Shanivar Wada Palace in Pune?

0 people found this answer useful Useful ?Yes
Shaniwar Wada was once the seat of the Peshwa Rulers, until they surrendered to British in 1818. Located in the heart of Pune, this palace is said to be haunted. Built in the year 1736, the palace caught fire in 1828. You can still see its outer walls, and the entrance with spikes to deter enemy elephants. All that remains now, are their stone plinths and the perimeter fortification wall.
