What is the suggested itinerary for Pushkar mela to be held in November 2013?

So, all set to explore the charm of the famous Pushkar Mela in Rajasthan? Well, this year the dates for this grand fair are 6th November to 17th November (the date on which Kartik Purnima is going to be celebrated). The first few days of mela are reserved for animal fair including camels, horses where there are hundreds of buyers and sellers gathering together to make a deal.

The remaining and arguably the most important phase of Pushkar fair starts mainly from the second week (12th Nov) which is the time to experience the religious flavour of the mela. You can see the streets of Pushkar being flocked by a large number of colorfully dressed people and several pilgrims which are so keen to be a part of the grand celebrations. Many people come specially to take bathe in the holy lake, which is said to be created by God Brahma, on the eve of Kartik Purnima. If you are interested in exploring this side of the fair, it is recommended that you visit Pushkar on or after 12th November. However, don't be surprised if you find thousands of people travelling with you to this sacred land.
