The Mughal Gardens open sometime during mid February to mid March. The exact dates vary from year to year. This year, i.e., 2016, the Mughal Gardens will be open from 12 February to 20 March. The visiting hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM. The gardens remain closed on Mondays, which is reserved for the maintenance of the place. The last day to visit the gardens, i.e., 20 March is reserved for farmers, the differently-abled and Defence, Delhi Police and Para-Military personnel.

The entry and exit will be arranged from Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. A separate entry point, i.e., Gate No. 12 has been reserved for the entry and exit of visually-impaired people. Visitors are requested not to bring any briefcases, ladies' purse, water bottles, cameras, eatables etc. for security reasons.

The spectacular gardens are spread over three terraces and have been inspired by the Mughal Gardens of Jammu and Kashmir. The gardens consist of many areas namely Herbal Garden, Spiritual Garden, Bonsai Garden and Musical Garden. One of the topmost places to visit in Delhi, you must plan a visit to the gardens. With numerous water channels, flowerbeds and vibrant butterflies, the gardens are a sight to behold!
