Due to its close proximity to the sea, the weather of Mumbai is largely influenced by the moderation effect of the sea. Ideally the city experiences coastal type of weather throughout the year, a humid one. However, every month offers a uniqueness of its own. Broadly the three main seasons here are:

  • Summer

The summer season usually lasts from March to May with the temperatures soaring as high as 35 degrees celsius. During these months the heat and humidity becomes unbearable. Even though the grandeur of this city may seem inviting, however; the scorching heat will keep you indoors for the bigger half of the day. Just in case that dusky tan is what makes you feel more attractive, go ahead and bask in the glory of the sun at one of the beaches.

  • Monsoon

Water clogging on roads is a common phenomenon between the months of June and September. With heavy showers playing havoc with the city’s drainage system, this season is sure to act as a mood spoiler for all those holiday seekers. While the whole of Bollywood City virtually seems afloat due to its proximity with the sea, the cultural festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, held during August/September, attracts people across the world. If you wish to enjoy this vibrant camaraderie and religious fervor, then slip on your favourite pair of flip flops, pull up your trousers and join the procession of Ganesha.

  • Winter

Ideally the best time to visit Mumbai is during the winter between November and February. With temperatures between 17 and 31 degrees celsius, the humidity is comparatively less and the weather fairly pleasant. Winters doesn't mean wearing loads of woolens in Mumbai. Go ahead delve into the city’s allure and explore every nook and corner for the weather gods are in your favour!

Even though, the climate for the major part of the year may seem unfavourable, this fascinating city beats every excuse to bag the most sought after destination award for tourists round the year.
