Chamba, being surrounded by the rich heritage of Himachali tradition, has a whole host of typically local handicrafts on offer for its visitors. From rustic musical instruments, brass and copper utensils and showpieces to ornate and exquisite shawls and leather shoes, Chamba has it all, and then more. The shawls and handkerchiefs here are woven over a loom in such a way that it can be worn on either side and the design would be the same. These are recognisable because of their brightness, colour, which also are common to woolen caps. The leather footwear has beautiful embroidery on it, and non-leather version is also available for visit to religious places that prohibit the use of leather.

Chamba is also famous for its Pahari style miniature paintings, which typically depict religious stories and myths that surround the region. These miniature paintings also feature on the famous silk Chamba Rumaal or handkerchiefs, that are a specialty here.
