Away from the glitzy malls and branded stores lies the small street market in Gokarna. Chaos, bargaining calls and enthusiastic shoppers greet you as you enter this bustling street. The street market in town is close to the temples and the main bus stand. Lined with small colourful shops, the street has its own charm. Pick up anything that catches your fancy. Beachwear, hippie dresses, beads, brass lamps, shell jewellery and psychedelic tee shirts are some of the things that may find their way into your huge shopping bags. The market in Gokarna calls for exceptional bargaining skills. With innumerable small shops huddled together, you can easily walk away with a plethora of treats at a surprising amount.
