    Also known as the Lewduh Market, Bara bazaar is famed for being the largest open street markets in North East India. With different sections for local handicrafts, vegetables, fish, betelnut, etc which can be bought at quite a bargain here, be prepared for a long, fulfilling day. Take home some amazing bamboo pickle, and you take back a little bit of Shillong with you.
    You can also spot some yummy forest honey and exotic fruits especially at the huge market on the eighth day of the unique Khasi week. A great place to experience the typical Shillong way of life too! The market usually shuts by sundown, so make sure you're done with your shopping expedition till then.

    Timings: 8am to 5pm (till sunset, mostly). Closed every Sunday
