The Christian credentials of this historical place cannot be denied. Having got established in the year 1854 during the British regime, Dalhousie boasts of many beautiful churches.

  • St. John's Church

    It was built in the year 1863 and is believed to be the oldest shrine in the town. This Protestant structure is fashioned after the Roman Catholic Church of England. The architecture is very Victorian.
    Situated on the
    Gandhi Chowk, the church houses a wonderful library which has exclusive books and rare photographs on Dalhousie.
    The place, along with nearby churches such as
    St. Francis and St. Andrew's, is worth visiting. It can be reached by taxi, bus or even on foot.

  • St. Francis Church

    Built in the year 1894, this church is located very near to Subhash Chowk in the town. This Catholic church is managed and run by the Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar.
    Built on the lines of the
    Church of England, the Sunday Mass held in the church's premises is very popular both among the locals as well as tourists. The scintillating glass work and the amazing stone artistry are a beauty to reckon with.
    Accessible by both bus/taxi as well as by foot, the church can be explored within an hour.

  • St. Andrews Church

    Popularly known as Church of Scotland, St. Andrews church was built by Protestants in 1903. The church understandably reflects an old-world Victorian charm and a befitting decor. Not to forget the lush green surroundings that add beauty to this place.
    The church is located about 2km away from the Bus Stand and can easily be reached by bus or on foot. The famous
    Subhash Baoli is located nearby.
    What must be remembered is that the front gate to the Church remains closed and you will have to enter from the right corner of the main boundary wall of the church.
