Invented and perfected by the royals themselves, the local food that you find in Udaipur is going to make you come back to the city for more, again and again. Sample some Daal Baati or Kadhi and Baajare ki Roti at the following names and rest assured you are in for a wonderful dining experience:

  • Natraj Restaurant

    A massive three storey structure that houses two floors of a dining hall and one floor for ala carte, the Natraj Restaurant is famous among tourists and residents alike. Our recommendation? Climb up the first flight of stairs and head to the Dining Hall, where you will be welcomed by a cacophony of murmurs and happy faces. Take your pick from the Rajasthani or Gujarati Thali here and relish these authentic local delights. The Kadhi that comes with the thali is to die for! You can also try Indian cuisines from the ala carte menu at the ground floor.
    Eat as much as you want and spend only INR 140 per thali.

  • Garden Palace Restaurant

    Housed in the erstwhile Garden Palace, this restaurant still lives in its old world ambiance. With options for both ala carte and buffet thali, this is the place to head to if you want to try local cuisine which isn't very spicy. The Vintage Car Museum is located a short walk from here and makes for an excellent place to digest your food while strolling down the courtyard.     The thalis here are priced at INR 180, but you can also have it included in your
    Vintage Museum ticket by paying INR 250.
