Pushkar houses numerous age old hindu temples that are highly revered throughout the country. People from far and wide come to pay homage to the almighty. You will find temples of Brahma in Pushkar unlike anywhere else in the country. Lets look at few of the most important temples in Pushkar below:

  • Sri Brahmaji Temple

    Being the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma is worshipped, this temple is one of the main attractions in Pushkar. Inside the temple is enshrined an awe-inspiring, life-size four-faced idol of Lord Brahma.
    Also do not miss the exquisitely carved turtle at the entrance of the temple, all made of silver.

  • Rangji Temple

    The temple is dedicated to an incarnation of Vishnu, Lord Rangji. The temple was built by Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal in 1823. It is built on the lines of South Indian architecture, though there are also glimpses of Mughal architecture in the structure.
    Two massive structures of
    dwarapalas (gatekeepers) are built at the entrance. The high-rising Gopuram (monumental tower) is particularly captivating. Interestingly, the place is bestowed with 360 carved images.

  • Savitri Temple

    Situated on the knoll behind the Brahma temple, the shrine of goddess Savitri dedicated to Lord Brahma's first wife nestles on a hillock. One has to hike a long series of steps to reach the temple. It gives a panoramic view of the charming lake and surrounding sand dunes.

  • Varaha Temple

    The Varahatemple houses a depiction of Lord Vishnu in the wild boar avatar. This ancient temple believed to be constructed by King Anaji Chauhan and it has great mythological significance. It is believed that Vishnu came on the earth in the incarnation of Varaha (wild boar) to kill the demon Hiranyaksha and liberate the land from his atrocities. This temple was built to pay homage to the varaha avatar of Lord Vishnu.

  • Apteshwar Temple

    Apteshwar Temple in Pushkar, Rajasthan is a highly revered temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in the 12th century this temple still stands in the glory of the olden times. The brilliant architecture of the temple attracts tourists from far and wide. The architecture of the temple will also reveal the transcendental essence of Indian spirituality.
