If you were to have a bird’s eye view of Dehradun, you will notice that the city is adorned with beautiful temples which are steeped in colourful mythological tales and spirituality. Come and feel connected to divinity:

  • Sai Darbar Temple

    A wonderful example of the Indian secular fabric, Sai Darbar temple is a famous pilgrim site as a number of devotees flock to this temple to pay their respects. Set in a tranquil surrounding far away from the hustle and bustle of the capital city, the temple offers you a perfect environment to pray at peace.

  • Laxman Siddh

    Located in the interiors of the Lachhiwala Forest, the temple is an ideal blend of spirituality and culture. Every Sunday a fair is held where thousands of disciples gather to pay their respects to the holy Samadhi situated in the premises of the temple.

  • Tapkeshwar Temple

    You will be surprised to know that this beautiful temple has strong connections to Hindu mythology. This is the place where Drona, the guru of Pandavas and Kauravas of the Mahabharata, meditated. It attracts a large number of devotees mainly during Shivratri. Situated on the banks of rivulet, the temple has a scenic background which is an added advantage for the people visiting this place.

  • Santala Devi Temple

    The temple stands as a symbol of the faith with  a great cultural and religious significance. Legend has it say that goes like when Santala Devi and her brother realized that the  Mughal Army is going to invade, they threw all their weapons and started praying to the Goddess. Suddenly they saw that a glimpse of light and within moments they both were transformed into stone images. This is the fort where the the shrine was built and Saturdays mark the transformation of the Goddess into stone.

  • Chandrabani

    This place holds great spiritual and mythological importance as it is believed to be the residence of Maharishi Gautam and also the place where Ganga manifested herself. Chandrabani, also known as Gautam Kund, is situated about 6-7 km from Dehradun. It is flocked by devotees who come to take a dip at the holy Kund which is situated in the premises.

Visit these temples for some soul searching and seek divine intervention as well. Make sure you enquire about the darshan and aarti timings of the places mentioned above.
