The best way to understand the roots of a place is to peek into its museums. Not only do these museums make you look beyond the surface of a destination, they also give one valuable insights into what shapes the place. Corbett also has a famous museum, which should be a must on your itinerary:

  • Corbett Museum

Housed in the erstwhile bungalow of Jim Corbett himself, this museum is nestled in the calm surroundings of Kaladhungi, 3km from the National Park. The place showcases his hunting weapons, his personal belongings, sketches, manuscripts and his hunts from the place. Witness the change of heart of this hunter who later devoted his life to the study of fauna he once killed. Once you have taken a look in the museum, you can stroll into the Dhangarhi Souvenir Shop to pick up handmade rural items and handicrafts or a few books about the National Park or the life of Jim Corbett.

Entry Fee: INR 10 for Indian nationals, INR 50 for Foreign Nationals.
    Timings: 8am to 6pm
    Address: Kaladhungi
    Corbett National Park

Drop by this museum and return home with more than just tiger sightings. The Corbett Museum is a great place to learn a little more about the wild, so do spend some time unravelling the mystery of the jungle on this holiday!
