Coorg offers you a peek into wilderness and its inhabitants. A splendid refuge for a wide variety of fauna and flora, this little town houses a number of wildlife sanctuaries. Amidst dense forests, rivers and low lying hills, nestled are few of the most beautiful sanctuaries in South India.

  • Nagarhole National Park

    Situated on the Brahmagiri hills, Nagarhole is spread over a large expanse of land. Its nice and distinct array of fauna and flora makes it one of the most popular reserves in South India. Nestled amongst the thick forests and grassy swamps, it is one of the best habitats for Asian elephants. Also recorded in the sanctuary is an astounding 250 species of birds along with a diverse variety of fauna.
    Explorers, bird watcher and adventurers are in for a special treat with the reserve’s gorgeous beauty and uncharted spots. Wander around the uncharted trails and bask in raw natural beauty.

  • Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

    Brahmagiri owes it name to the highest peak in the sanctuary. Dotted with steep valleys, the sanctuary is the point of origination for eight river and streams. Home to two forest reserves - Brahmagiri and Urty, Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1974.
    A variety of fauna crowds this reserve, from
    wild elephants to lion tailed macaque, be prepared to spot any of its rare inhabitants.

  • Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

    Located in the Somwarpet taluka of Coorg, Pushapgiri is touted as being one of the most important bird areas in the world. Refuge for rare and endangered species of birds, it is a spectacular reserve.
    Visitors can spot several unique species of plants including
    Albizia lebbeck, Dysoxylum and Mesua ferrea. Amongst others, you could also be lucky enough to spot the Indian Giant Squirrel, Brown Palm Civet and Travancore Flying. Pushpagiri wildlife sanctuary also houses the highest peak of the area, the Kumara Parvat peak. Buckle up to witness the charming beauty of Pushpagiri sanctuary or catch a glimpse of its rare fauna.
