Which are the most famous Wildlife Reserves/Zoos/Sanctuaries in Jaipur?

If you are the wildlife lover, you may have to make an extra effort to satiate yourself when in Jaipur. No, don’t frown already! Though, there are no wildlife reserves in Jaipur per se, don’t lose your spirit as you can head to one of the Reserves listed below:

  • Sariska Tiger Reserve

    One of the most famous national parks in India that is around 110 kms away from the Pink City, Sariska Tiger Reserve is home to the
    Bengal tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, Chital, Sambar, Caracal, Langur, Wild Boar, Four-horned Deer (chowsingha) and several species of birds. You can take your own vehicle inside the reserve or hire one run by the Reserve, whatever way it suits your comfort best. In case you want to stay here, some of the  hotels here are Sariska Tiger Heaven (Top end),  Gulmohar Sariska Resort  (Mid-range) and Hotel Tiger Den (Economy).

Entry Fee: INR 200.
Best time to visit: November to March

  • Ranthambhore National Park

    Located about 150 kms away from Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park is famous for its Tigers and will surely acquire a top spot in your favourites if you are a photographer . For a relatively small area, the park has a rich diversity of fauna and flora and the species list includes 300 trees, 50 aquatic plants, 272 birds, 12 reptiles including the Marsh Crocodile & amphibians and 30 mammals. Ranthambore National Park is open from
    1st October to 30th June (July - September closed to visitors). As it is located at quite a distance from Jaipur, you may want to spend a few nights here before heading back. Some hotels here are Hotel Vanyavillas (Top end), The PugMark Ranthambore (Mid-range) and  RTDC Hotel Vinayak (Economy).

Entry Fee: Only for video cameras.

Best time to visit is between November and May

The tiger sightings in both these places is fairly common, so make sure your camera has batteries to click this striped beast in his wild world. Get ready for a heady adventure, set for a comfortable stay and go for an unforgettable experience!
