Tired of a long adventurous day and don’t know where to eat? Well, if that is the worry, then like everything else Rishikesh has the answer to that as well. Take a look at the options that you can explore to satisfy the foodie in you:

If you are a pure vegetarian, then Rishikesh is like heaven for you because having non vegetarian food is not allowed in the town. For you one of the best options would be:

  • Chotiwala

Two restaurants with the same name and stuck in a neck to neck competition, serve you with the best vegetarian food and thalis in the town. They are easily recognisable because of the round and jolly chotiwala (a fat mascot with a pointed hairdo) sitting right outside the restaurant with the thali having all the dishes that are served during that day.  Though initially the restaurants had an all-you-can-eat policy but due to practical issues, that practice has been done away with and now extra servings are charged. Do not miss the delicious Kulfi when you come here.
Spend some INR 40 to INR 70 per person for a delicious north Indian meal and INR 70 to INR 120 for a thali and relish the experience with a glass of cold lassi.

Candlelit tables, hanging lanterns and amazingly wide spectrum of cuisines available make this restaurant one of the most loved ones in Rishikesh. You will find food from Thai to Mexican and from Tibetan to Continental cuisines to relish in a very affordable price bracket. You have to have to try the apple crumble here.
You will have to tinkle around INR 30 to INR 140 per person for a gut filling meal.

If you are a continental food lover then the following option will treat you with all you want

  • Ganga Beach Restaurant

Don’t freak out! There are no real beaches in Rishikesh but the riverside with its soothing breeze very well compensates for it. To add to the charm, the spacious terrace and cushioned chill-out area at this restaurant make it a hit among the tourist. People come here asking for wood-fired pizzas and crepes and the ice-cold lassi. Join in the list, soon.
You will have to spend some INR 30 to INR 120 per person for an amazing meal.

Its the delectable food, its the hospitality, and it’s the affordable prices. Now here comes the twist. If you have come above the normal food that you have been having all your life and want to try something new and interesting, then there is Organic/Health/Yoga food offered in Rishikesh. Some of the best options to try that are:

  • The Welcome Center

Located just a 10-15 minute walk towards Haridwar from the Shivanand Jhula bridge, this eating joint is a hub for amazing Ayurvedic food and teas. Now that’s not the end of it. They also offer you classes for cooking and several kinds of yoga. They also natural incense, neti pots along with yoga mats and other similar items. If you like the way they treat you, you can also enquire about staying at this beautiful getaway from the city’s hustle bustle.

  • Ganga Ayurvedic Food Place

This is one place where you will have the best salads in the town. The food is delicious and is lovingly prepared in one of the most clean kitchens (it’s reassuring when you can see the kitchen!!) This is also a nice option for the people who treat breakfast literally as the most important meal of the day.
