The Princess of Hill stations, Kodaikanal is a treat for you if you are a nature lover. Be it beautiful lush green valleys or the pristine lakes and caves, Kodaikanal is a huge treat in a small package. It has all the natural beauty to shower upon its visitors and who want to embrace the last drop of what Mother Nature has to offer.

  • Coaker’s Walk: This tiny hill station has long walks that you can enjoy with that special someone or with nature as your partner and one of the most famous is the Coaker’s Walk. If you like to embrace the beauty of the picturesque valleys while strolling around then this must interest you.
    Watch the snow clad mountains beneath you or enjoy the sunrise at its best from here, this walk is going to be a treat for your senses.
    Catch the best of the valleys before 2 in the afternoon and the snow clad mountains between 3pm and 6pm. in the winters to see what nature can do to you. The attraction is located very close to the bus stand.

    Also, peep in through the telescope set near the main gate for a closer panoramic view of the charming town.

    Timings: 7 am- 7 pm  (Best Time: 1 pm-2 pm)
    Last Entry: 6pm
    Entry Fee: INR 5 for adults and children alike.


  • Guna Caves: This is an attraction that became really popular after the movie Guna came out. It is a very steep cave to get in, which increases the risk factor and hence the adventure in exploring the place. Because of its fatal history, visitors are not allowed to enter the cave. Though, it is still a hot spot for clicking pictures. Do not try to explore it on your own as there could be a chance of that being your last exploration.


  • Green Valley View/Suicide Point: This is an interesting one! This point has more than 5000 ft steep drop from this point that made people call it the Suicide Point. However, just to prevent people to get lured in committing a suicide, the name of the point was changed to Green Valley View. It offers a fantastic view of the valleys below and gives you a thrill of owning the world. Even if you are alone, the monkeys there will keep you engaged.


  • Devil’s Kitchen: Initially known only to the locals, Devil’s Kitchen is gradually becoming one of the most visited attractions in Kodaikanal. It is a cave that is a must one to explore on the list of anybody who comes to Kodaikanal. You should be really aware of the deep hidden ravines as many have fallen prey to these.


  • Bear Shola Waterfall: An ideal picnic spot, these waterfalls located about 1.6 km from the bus stand and within 2 km off the lake are a treat in rainy season to anyone who passed by this beautiful attraction in Kodaikanal. It is said that once bears used to come here to drink water and hence the name of the falls became Bear Shola falls.

    There is no entry fee to make the most out of this natural experience.


These are just few of the golden names. Other attractions to look for are Pillar Rocks, Silent Valley View, Pine Forest, Kodaikanal Observatory, Dolphin’s Nose and not to forget the Silver Cascade. Go enjoy!!
