  1. Nehru Zoo Park located in the old city is the best place in Hyderabad to enjoy the wild life. It will take atleast 4 to 5 hours to visit the entire zoo park fully. Van safari in the zoo park is a must visit, where we can spot many tigers, lions, leapords roaming freely.
  2. Mruguvan National Park located near to chilkur, is also one of the best places to enjoy wild life in Hyderabad. It is situated very near to the APPA junction. You can reach this place from mehidipatnam or from the ORR.

Though Hyderabad is not particularly known for wildlife, a tourist exploration of a place never seems complete until he or she has taken the nature trail. Even if the Charminar or the Bidriwares have captured your heart, you will be asking for a spectacular view of a bird in a lone flight, or a deer running towards the bushes.

  • Mrigavani Wildlife Park

With 600 varieties of floras, consisting of bamboo, teak and sandalwood and numerous species of animals and birds, including cheetah, sambar, flower peckers, lapwings, this park, which is 25 km from Hyderabad, is a place to be for nature lovers. Don’t be surprised if you sense a flutter behind your ears, it is just one of the 20 species of butterflies in this park. If you go during the monsoon, chances are that you might get a glimpse of a colourful peacock, spreading its feathers and dancing in the rain!
  • Nehru Zoological Park

Indian rhino, Asiatic lion, panther, kangaroo and gaur- these are some of the species that this zoo has adopted. The vast expanse of this park provides ample opportunity to all the species to survive in its natural-like habitat and consequently tourist can witness them in their most natural manner. Nocturnal house reverses day and night in this zoo so that visitors can see them at daytime. So, if you ever thought that you will never witness the hooting of an owl, unless you decide to stay awake at night, well, sleep well tonight, for tomorrow at this zoo, you can see it during the day. And do take the Maharaja Elephant Ride and the Train Ride!

  • Mahavir Harina Vanasthali Wildlife Park

Providing sanctuary to more than 80 species of migratory birds, this park is nature’s delight. Don’t be amazed if you find a dozen deers of various colour and spots as this park is home to approximately 400 species of deers. Established in the year 1975, this park is famous for the endangered Black Bucks. Apart from these, you will find cheetahs, monitor lizards, porcupines, eagle, egrets and kites. Now, that’s like an open zoological park in itself. Birdwatchers, this is another gift for you from Hyderabad.

With updated knowledge of the living world around you, don’t you feel like a student again? Well, as they say, learning is a never-ending process and in these parks, nature as a subject will keep you engrossed in its amazing facts.
