If all this time you have been seeing blue, blue and blue water and are feeling somewhat blue, then, be ready to go after green- in all its hues. Sometimes the sight of a lone bird soaring high in the sky or a golden deer running midst the green bushes is enough to charge up your mind and body. So, don’t lose any more time and get ready to feel the energy.

  • Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary

    A protected forest, Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary is a natural habitat of tigers. If the orange and black stripes is not enough, then the list of other species like sambar deer, Indian Rock Python, Indian Bison etc, most of which are threatened species, will make you a wildlife enthusiast. Since the sanctuary is in the Western Ghats area, expect lots of varieties of  plants all around. There, you got your green, ask blue to shift to the back.

  • Suchindram Theroor Birds Sanctuary

    At a distance of around 13 km from Kanyakumari, lies Suchindram. Visit Suchindram Theroor Birds Sanctuary and the first thing that makes you turn your head is the flapping of wings and sweet chirpings. As you search for the sound and look upwards, you will see numerous species of birds, all looking down at the new visitor. Migratory water birds like egrets, pelicans and darters and native ones like tern, goose, stork have put this place on the tourist map. Apart from this, the purple lily, the pink lotus blooming among the heart shaped leaves will is a sight worth all the days you had spent on planning the trip.

  • Keeriparai Reserve Forest

    All you need is a water bottle and a comfortable pair of shoes and, of course, the excitement and the energy. With this ticked, bear a distance of 40 km from Kanyakumari and 30 km from Nagercoil to stand in the threshold of a unique world of lions, elephants and pythons, among the other species of faunas. The floras are also not-to-be-missed part as many plant varieties of this forest is said to be used in the preparation of Siddha medicine, a form of ayurvedic treatment. As the mango, jackfruit, coconut hides the sparkling streams and the smaller shrubs bearing colourful flower, you will be tempted to join in the game and to seek out the treasures of the forest.

Before its time to take the blue road again, bundled up all the sights, the sounds and the memories. Cover it up with the greeneries and keep it somewhere carefully. Every time you take out the bundle, you will be surrounded with images of the forests, the streams and the floras and faunas.
