Goa is a paradise for beach lovers as the place has some really beautiful beaches which are perfect venues for spending some moments of relaxation and gives birth to many beach holiday tour packages. Goa has something to offer for everyone. For people who want to enjoy parties and nightlife to the fullest, North Goa is the best option while South Goa would be the preferred choice for those who love peace and want to enjoy the nature. The best months to visit the beaches are November to March. However if you are planning night camping at beaches do it only under proper supervision and guidance. And as they say, the best advice I can give you is, 'Sun-Screen'. So don't forget to pick your bottle or sun-screen while on a journey to the majestic beaches of Goa. Here are some of the majestic beaches in South Goa as well as North Goa.

Beaches in South Goa

  • Polem Beach
It is the southernmost beach of Goa. This beautiful secluded beach has long stretches of rocky headlands and white sand that make it even more attractive and worth visiting. One can also spot white bellied fish eagles and dolphins here. There is shack here too, for refreshments.

  • Galjibaga Beach
This long and secluded beach is a spot for sighting the rare olive ridley turtles in the sea. Has an interesting location between two rivers and is accessible via a wooden canoe put by the locals. It is also an ideal destination for a quiet romantic getaway.

  • Patnem-Colomb Beach
The beaches form a horseshoe structure and the clear water makes it a good option for swimming. This beach stretch should be a preferred destination for you if you are looking for a relaxed spot. The rather unexplored beach has a certain degree of calmness and tranquility attached to it. The beach has some shacks which offer excellent food that is enough to satiate your hunger!

  • Agonda Beach
Agonda Beach is a welcome change from the overcrowded Palolem or Calangute beach. Located in South Goa, the beach is an ideal place for sunbathing, swimming or relaxing. The major attractions of this place are Cabo de Rama Fort and Ridley turtles (November to March) and being the home to the best beach huts in Goa.

  • Mobor Beach
You will find the amazing Mobor Peninsula and beautiful white sands on your visit to this beach! This beautiful stretch is popular for adventurous water sport activities like speed boat rides, water skiing, jet ski and boat rides among others. There are a number of shacks on the beach where you can have delicious Goan food and refreshing drinks.

Beaches in North Goa

  • Baga Beach
This is one of the best and most popular beaches in Goa and is an ideal destination for you if you are interested in fishing. You can also enjoy happening nightlife at this beautiful beach with famous Cafe Mambo and Club Tito. It also has several restaurants (Cavala Seaside Resort, J & A's Little Italy), local stalls and shacks (Lario's Beach Shack) that offer interesting barbeque nights amidst soothing ambience.

  • Calangute Beach
This is the place to be if you want to be a part of the busiest beach in Goa. It is the perfect haven for tourists, complete with shacks and various stalls that sell everything from beer to fried prawns to beautiful trinkets. Temptation Shack on Calangute Beach serves amazing local food for the tourists.

  • Anjuna Beach
This rocky beach has quite a few venues for entertaining backpacking foreigners and natives alike and remains one of the most famous venues for full moon parties. This beach is always crowded with people as it has quite a few eateries in the vicinity, but even the crowd won't stop you from having a good time at this beach. Some of the hotels in Goa are conveniently available near this beach.

These are only the famous ones in the state. The endless number of beaches in Goa that offer a whole package of fun wait to be explored and enjoyed by you.
