Food unites this city. At every corner and block of this incredible city you will find some unique eating joint. Chandigarh’s love affair with food has led to a dizzying number of restaurants opening; a matter of great adventure for natives, faced as they are with an incredible variety of dining options. Some of the more popular ones are:

  • Barbeque Nation

A restaurant that tastily captures the gastronomic spirit of Chandigarh, it isn’t a wonder Barbeque Nation is a favorite pick of natives and visitors alike for fine dining. They have quite an offering of African cocktails. The menu includes an exciting assortment of Mediterranean appetizers with an equally interesting choice of dips. For main course you can take your pick from their collection of Thai, Mediterranean and Indian dishes. If there is still space left in your stomach for more, do try their Almond Banana pie or white chocolate almond tart. You may get stuck in your chair and can feel your stomach about to burst at the seams, but you will come out grinning and satisfied like a Cheshire cat or more appropriately, a cat who got the cream.

All credit and debit cards are accepted here.

A meal for two will cost you anywhere in the range of INR 800 to INR 1,200, without alcohol.

  • Copper Chimney

With its mind-boggling variety of Punjabi cuisine, Copper Chimney will delight you with its bold tastes and cozy ambience. Though they have quite a variety in their offerings of lamb and fish dishes, their chicken based dishes make an excellent meal and are sure to delight your taste buds. If you are a vegetarian, their Malai Kofta and Kadhai Paneer are sure to sizzle your taste buds, but you could go ahead and order any one of their main course offerings and you couldn’t go wrong. The Pudina Lachaha Prantha is an excellent accompaniment to any veg or non-veg main course.

A meal for two will cost anywhere between INR 750 to INR 1,200, not including the alcohol.

Recognizable from afar with its front painted the colours of the Italian National Flag; red white and green, every dish on this Italian restaurant’s menu shows an attention to detail and flavour. Casual and contemporary, they offer a mouth watering, dizzying variety of veg and non-veg pastas, lasagnes and salads. The main attraction though are the pizzas, with their incredible listing of toppings. They enter the wood fire oven and emerge moments later fragrant and baked to gastronomic perfection. You will probably see the owner of the place lingering around. Do ask him for his recommendations.

A meal for two would cost anywhere between INR 500 to 1,000, without alcohol.
