When in Munnar, if religion beckons you, you will have plenty of options to go to and pay your homage to the almighty. Here are the listings-

  • Sree Krishna Temple

    This temple of Munnar is beautifully decorated and is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Located at Peermade, the temple is popular among locals as well as tourists alike.
    The temple is especially crowded during an annual 10-day festival which is accompanied by a number of folk ceremonies that are sure to amaze you.

  • Sree Ayyappa Temple

    This temple is situated at Anachal, which is about 15 km from Munnar. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, a popular Hindu deity worshiped in many temples in South India.
    There is organized in the temple a 6-day long festival which is conducted with much fanfare.

  • Attukal Bhagavathy Temple

    This temple is located at Attukal, 2 km away from Munnar. The temple is dedicated to Attukal Devi, also known as Goddess Kannaki, who is considered as the Supreme Mother.
    Attukal Pongala is the chief festival celebrated here during the month of February/March. The festivities last for a good 10 days when thousands of women assemble here to pay their devotion to the goddess.

  • Christ Church

    This protestant church was built by tea-planters in 1910. Be it the Victorian architecture or the 14 rows of lovely rosewood pews or the exquisite glasswork, the church is truly a genuine reflection of Munnar's rich cultural heritage.
