Religious sites in Chail are heavily steeped in mythology and folk legends. They provide a lyrical insight into the cultural fabric of the town. Some of them are:

The story behind the myth of why Maharaja Bhupinder Singh couldn't build his Palace on top of the highest hill in Chail, despite his desire to goes that a saintly figure, a Sidh, came in the dreams of the Maharaja and told him that the site is where he used to meditate and was eventually buried under. He asked the Maharaja to reconsider the site for a temple instead, which is what Maharaja Bhupinder Singh did. He built a temple to honour the Saint, which came to be called Sidh Baba ka Mandir. Built as it is on the highest hill in Chail, you will have to huff and puff your way through the winding stairs. But once you reach the temple, tranquility and serenity will greet you. Surrounded by Deodars and Pines, the temple has open courtyards and separate alcoves for separate deities. In a small, burnt out hut lives the temple priest and he will permit you if you want to pictures of the temple deities.

Built on a hilltop named Blossom, the Kali Devi Temple is devoted to Kali Devi, the Goddess of time and change. It is the hike itself, however, that's the draw of this place. You will be going through a path lined by canopy of towering blue-green pines and cedars, with the mist enveloping the path as you go uphill. If you sense movement in the forests, don't get alarmed, it could be one of the wild animals that reside here. Of course, that can be a source of alarm for some. But they very rarely come out in the open. Once you reach the Temple, the view is even more breathtaking, if possible. You can easily see the sun-kissed peaks of Shivalik range and Chur Chandni from here. You could also drive up here, but keep in mind that the road is narrow and at a given time there is enough space for only one car to go through. So, be careful at the turns.
