We know Palampur is a great hill station, but what makes it even better is the places around it, don't you think? Well, all of these places are not very far and are waiting for you to explore them. Just read on to know what these places have for you.

  • Bharkudi

    Located at a distance of 25 kilometres from Palampur, this place presents picturesque settings which are really worth exploring and seeing. The place is filled with fountains and caves which are sure to mesmerize you. Also there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Bharkudi.

  • Bir and Billing

    Located 35 kilometres away from Palampur, this place is famous for its Buddhist monasteries. Billing is 14 kilometres away from Bir. It is an high altitude area of around 200 kilometres which makes it one of the best aerosports sites in the country. Bir, on the other hand, is surrounded by tea gardens and an amphitheater of low hills thus an ideal landing around for paragliders. If you are fond of handicrafts then you will be delighted to know the fine Tibetan handicraft are also produced here.

  • Andretta

    At a distance of 13 kilometres from the town, it is the home of the famous artist, Late Sardar Shobha Singh and playwriter Late Norah Richards. There are amazing paintings in their private houses which are worth seeing. The place offers excellent breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Range, a real treat for the photographers. Also, you can find a famous centre for pottery and crafts at Andretta and the craft society was started in 1983. It is a production studio which attractively makes earthen slipware along with providing a three month courses for aspiring potters.

  • Neugal Khad

    Located just 2 kilometres from the town, this place provides a fine view of the Dhauladhar Range. Also known as the Bundla Chasm, it is a site of a 300 metre wide stream where tourists can enjoy picnicking. It is roaring in the rainy season and gurgling all the year round. The Neugal Cafe or the Himachal Tourism cafe provides food and offers a fine view of the Dhauladhar Range and great view of Neugal Khad.The Cafe is as famous as the stream for its lip-smacking snacks.
