While most people head to Corbett thinking about visiting the National Park, the place also has a handful of other places worth checking out! Lace up for more things that Corbett has on its platter and head to the following places:

  • Corbett National Park

    Named after the famous British hunter turned author and naturalist, Corbett National park is one of the oldest National parks in India. The place attributes diverse flora and fauna situated in the sub-Himalayan belt. It is a major ecotourism destination that features beautiful landscapes and dense forests. Exciting not only for the jungle rides in open jeeps, the tracing of tigers based on bird calls and pugmarks has a thrill of its own. Get set and head to Corbett National Park for the adventure kick this vacation. Apart from the king of the forest, you can also spot Elephants, Leopards, Boars, Deers, Himalayan Palm Civets, Jungle Cats, Fishing Cats, Indian Gray Mongoose, Blacked-naped hare, Porcupines, Langur , Monkey, Sloth Bear and Black Bear here.

    You need to obtain a permit for viewing the park before your entry from the Tourist Office at the gate.

    Timing: Morning: 6am to 10am
    Evening: 2pm to 6pm
    Charges: INR 3500 per jeep, with a seating capacity of 6 persons

  • Corbett Falls

    Picture a silvery stream cascading down rugged mountains in the midst of lush green, swaying forests, imagine the harmonious mingling of sounds of splashing waterfalls and melodious bird calls - this is nature's gift to you, in the form of Corbett Falls. Hidden in a quiet pocket of the region, the Corbett Falls are rapidly gaining popularity as a tourist spot for all the peace and tranquility they have to offer. There is no entry fee for this one, so don't be fooled if anyone tries to extract money from you. It is advisable to carry your own snacks here as this place lacks shops or stalls selling eatables.

  • Corbett Museum

    Housed in the erstwhile bungalow of Jim Corbett himself, this museum is nestled in the calm surroundings of Kaladhungi, 3km from the National Park. The place showcases his hunting weapons, his personal belongings, sketches, manuscripts and his hunts from the place. Witness the change of heart of this hunter who later devoted his life to the study of fauna he once killed. Once you have taken a look in the museum, you can stroll into the Dhangarhi Souvenir Shop to pick up handmade rural crafts and handicrafts or a few books about the National Park and the life of Jim Corbett.

    Entry Fee: INR 10 for Indian nationals, INR 50 for Foreign Nationals.

  • Dhikala

    A popular site amongst the touristy crowds in Corbett, this place is a favourite for its panoramic views. Watch the Ramganga River spread out into various channels or soak in the might of the rugged Kumaon range from this vantage point. Drive past the deserted Dhikala Guest House and wonder how many stories it encases within its broken walls and dilapidated roof. Don't be surprised if an elephant or two drop by to say hi, they are frequent visitors to this place. Good idea to take your guide along on this one, he will help you with the ways along with narrating interesting anecdotes.

  • Garjia Devi Temple

    Perched atop a rock on the river Kosi, the Garjia Devi Temple is dedicated to a deity by the same name. It is said that offering prayers to this goddess brings security and longevity to ones life. Normally a quiet temple, this compound comes to life during the Kartik Poornima celebrations when the place is decked in decorations and sees enthusiastic participation.
