  • Captain Williamson Sangma State Museum

    Looking for some insights into local history and lifestyle? Head here to understand more about what Meghalaya was like when it was Assam and everything that has gone into giving the state its unique character. Run by the Government of Meghalaya, it is housed in the State Central Library Complex, which also has statues and monuments dedicated local patriots who fought for the state, Indira Gandhi and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

    Timings: 10am to 4pm (Closed on 2nd Saturday of every month)

  • Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures

    Know everything about local, indigenous or world culture at this unique museum. Attend one of the regularly hosted animation programmes or buy publications of the various research that the centre conducts and feel childlike awe at the amazing displays here. Opened only in 2003, this massive museum building is spread over 7 floors and 14 well-maintained galleries. A great place to gain some insights into the North Eastern culture in India.

  • Butterfly Museum
