Which railway stations are near the prominent tourist places and attractions in Mumbai?

Railways figures as  the most preferred means for long-distance travel in India. And, just imagine, how convenient it will be for you if you were told about a number tourist-spots that happen to be in the vicinity of the railway station you get down at in Mumbai. We bet, the visit shall turn out to be so much more fruitful. 

Here is a brief list of the many railway stations in Mumbai and the areas of tourist-interest nearby. Read on.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Station 

The most prominent railway station in Mumbai, this railway terminal connects Mumbai city to most cities in India. Sites of tourist-interest are- Rukmani Devi Hall, War Heroes Memorial (about 30 minutes away by bus), Phoenix Club (about 40 minutes away by bus), etc. Premier hotels like Sea Palace, Hotel Godwin are also nearby.

Dadar West Railway Station

Popular sites around are- Apple Plaza (barely 10-minutes walking distance), Sharda Ashram (15-minutes away by bus or tax), etc. Kohinoor Park is a nearby hotel.

Andheri Railway Station

Once you land at Andheri station, you have the option of visiting places like-Iskcon Temple (about 30 minutes by bus/taxi), Andheri Jamatkhana (nearly 15-minutes walking distance), Sacred Heart Church (approximately 20 minutes away by bus), Jain Temple (very close and at a convenient walking distance). Hotels close by are- Hotel Solitaire, Hotel Subhash.

King’s Circle Railway Station

From here, places that may interest you are- St. Michael’s Church (which is about 15 minutes away by bus, taxi or auto), Makhdoom Shah Baba Dargah (about 20 minutes away from bus), Elephanta Island (about half an hour drive away). Hotels around are-Midtown Pritam Hotel, Avon Ruby Hotel, Parklane Hotel, Bawa Regency Hotel, to name just a few.
