Location. Housed in a converted farmhouse surrounded by landscaped gardens, the Damson Dene Hotel and Leisure Club is located within five miles of Lake Windermere. Manchester Airport is situated 70 miles away and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach by car.

Hotel Features. The Damson Dene's onsite leisure centre houses a fitness room and indoor pool, while the steam room provides opportunities for relaxation. Supervised yoga and aerobics classes are also available, and a range of treatments are offered in the beauty salon, including massage, aromatherapy and facials. Other amenities include room service (limited hours), laundry facilities and dry-cleaning services. Motorists will find complimentary parking on site.

The Heron View is a bright, traditional restaurant that affords garden and hill views and serves a range of classic British dishes prepared using fresh produce from the onsite farm and Victorian kitchen garden. The Damson Tree is an informal bar offering traditional English dishes and a range of drinks.

Guestrooms. The 37 guestrooms are individually decorated in traditional style and offer views of the Lakeland Hills. Amenities include televisions, direct-dial phones, clock radios, coffee/tea makers and bathrooms with makeup/shaving mirrors and complimentary toiletries.

Expert Tip. Kendal, located 12 miles from the hotel, is a charming market town characterised by traditional limestone buildings. The town boasts a castle, a Musuem of Natural History and Archaeology and an Art Gallery housing works by Lucian Freud, Paula Rego and Stanley Spencer. The town is also famous for its Kendal mint cake.
