Locally there are walks, swimming, sailing, kayaking, cycling, fishing, golf and diving. It's a short stroll along the beach front to great cafes, the boating club bistro and bar, village shops, the commuter railway station and it's just 8 kms drive to our new Lighthouse cinema. A place to relax and revive at the gateway between the 2 islands. With fully made up beds, unbeatable views, a warm ambiance, cozy winter fire and many homely touches, this self catering accommodation is hard to beat. If you have a car, van or bike there is plenty of parking. The commuter train runs regularly to Plimmerton till late and the Intercity Bus request stop is at Mana. We are happy to pick you up if we know when you will arrive. Moana Lodge is also a great stopover for Inter island and Bluebridge ferries (20 minutes by car) as well as trips to Wellington(20 mins), Wairarapa (1 hr), Kapiti Coast(20mins), Hutt Valley (20 mins) and Porirua (10 mins). Office hours are 8.00am till 9.00pm. Arrivals after 9.00pm MUST be arranged prior with the hostel or bookings will not be accepted. 48 hours cancellation is required prior to the date of arrival to avoid 1 night's penalty payment.
