The location is the best possible in the city centre - safe and quiet, although only a 500 meter walk from the Central station and bus and airport shuttle terminal. Most of the city’s sights, including Gamla Stan, the medievel part of Stokcholm, can be found within walking distance, and the main walking and shopping street, Drottninggatan, is just around the corner. No low-season! City Backpackers is designed to be the ultimate meeting place, where you are guaranteed to meet and fellow travellers from all over the world. We never have less than 50 young travellers staying with us on any single day of the year. This does not mean that our hostel always is jam-packed; it just means you will meet new friends. You can stay in a room with 2, 4, 6, 8, 11 or 12 beds. Female dorms are provided. We also have two apartments/studios for up to six people with private bathroom, shower and kitchen. Note: Sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers are a must-have. Bring your own to cut costs or rent them for 50 SEK. If you bring a sleeping bag, you will need to rent a sheet and a pillow case for 25 SEK. We have a large fully equipped guest kitchen within the hostel and also a new, cozy backpacker café in-house with breakfast options and a great variety of light meals, sandwiches, cookies, snacks and hot/cold drinks all day long! When you want to relax there is a hot sauna and lounge areas with satellite TV, daily newspapers and mini table tennis available. We have quite a lot common areas to hang out and meet other travellers. Every night is movie night when we show a popular Swedish film. We offer an awesome and incomparable Viking Sauna Tour to a lake outside Stockholm winter season. Summer season we go on bike picnics. Other tours are also provided all year round. For your security there are lockers both inside and outside the rooms (bring a padlock or buy one inexpensive in the reception!). Before you check in or after you have checked out you can keep your luggage in our luggage room. The hostel also keeps a nice courtyard at your disposal. City BackPackers has an environmental-friendly approach and is working on getting the EU eco-label for accommodation (the flower). This includes among other: waste recycling, electricity from renewable sources, energy efficient white-wares and light bulbs, no smoking and an overall environmental policy. City BackPackers is open 365 days a year and has no curfew. No hostel membership is needed. PLEASE NOTE that you must book for a minimum of 2 nights at the weekend (i e not only Friday or Saturday).
