Which Indian Airports are Offering Rapid PCR Testing Facility?

Flights between India and Dubai are expected to resume soon, after the United Arab Emirates released a new set of travel guidelines for Indian travellers.

Among the latest guidelines, which can be checked here, a new rule mandates travellers to undergo a Rapid PCR test four hours before the departure of their flight. In order to facilitate this particular rule, several airports in India are now setting up Rapid PCR testing stations.

Here is the list of all Indian airportswhere travellers can avail the rapid PCR testing facility:

1. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai

Travellers will be pleased to know that Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has already set up a Rapid PCR testing facility which gives results in 1-2 hours and is priced at Rs. 4500.

2. Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru

The Kempegowda International Airport has also already set up the Rapid PCR testing for passengers. Priced at Rs.3200 per person, this test will provide travellers with results between 30 minutes to 2 hours.

3. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad

Similar to Mumbai and Bengaluru airports, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has also already set up the Rapid PCR facility, which gives results in just 45 minutes and is priced at Rs.6000.

4. Cochin International Airport, Kochi

Following the new UAE travel guidelines, the Cochin International Airport also set up the Rapid PCR facility for the convenience of passengers. The facility at the airport can reportedly test upto 200 persons in one hour, and provide results in just 30 minutes.

5. Trivandrum International Airport, Thiruvananthapuram

The Trivandrum Airport has set up a Rapid PCR facility at the international departure terminal 2 of the airport, reportedly priced at Rs.2500.


6. Calicut International Airport, Karipur

The airport primarily serving the region of Kozhikode, Wayanad, Palakkad and Malappuram in Kerala has set up a Rapid PCR facility, priced at Rs.2500. Please note that the facility is yet to begin operations.

7. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Airport has started a Rapid PCR facility, priced at Rs.4000 and providing results in just 30 minutes for the convenience of passengers departing for the UAE.

Vaccines Approved in the UAE

Passengers must note that there are four vaccines approved in the UAE for use, namely, Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sputnik V and Oxford-AstraZeneca. The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has confirmed that AstraZeneca, the vaccine which is sold in India under the name Covishield, is approved in the UAE:
