Planning a trip involves many separate decisions, such as where to go, how long to stay, and how to fit it all into your budget. ixigo holiday packages make this easier by bringing your trip together in one place. You can browse packages, open any of them to see the full details and total price, choose your travellers, and complete your booking.
Booking a holiday usually means paying the full package price at checkout. Partial Payment changes this for eligible ixigo holiday packages. You reserve the package by paying ₹250 upfront and pay the remaining balance before a set due date. If you’re browsing holiday packages and want to reserve one without paying the full amount immediately, this guide explains how the feature works, which best holiday tour packages qualify, and what to keep in mind.

What is Partial Payment?
Partial Payment lets you reserve eligible holiday trip packages by paying a predefined, non-refundable amount of ₹250 upfront. You pay the rest of the package price later, before a due date that is shown to you before you pay.
Your booking is confirmed once the initial partial payment is completed. You then complete the balance payment within the allowed window.
The ₹250 initial amount is non-refundable, so read the payment terms before you commit.
How to Spot an Eligible Tour Package Deal
Partial Payment is configured separately for each package. It appears only on packages where it has been enabled. On package cards, eligible packages carry a label such as “Book this package @ ₹250.” The total package price is still shown separately, so you can compare tour package offers easily.
On the package details page, a banner shows three things: the initial amount payable, the remaining amount, and the final payment due date (for example, “Next instalment payable by 23 Oct 2026”). You can also open the complete payment terms from this page.
Booking with Partial Payment, Step by Step
Choose your payment option: Two options appear at the bottom of the booking screens: Pay Partial Amount (₹250) and Pay Full Amount (the total package price). The option you select is highlighted. Partial payment is selected by default only if the package is configured that way. Otherwise, full payment is the default.
Check the review page: The fare summary shows your chosen payment option. For partial payment, it lists the amount payable now, the remaining amount payable later, the payment due date, and a non-refundable notice. The button shows the amount you’re paying immediately, for example “Reserve for ₹250,” along with the amount due later.
Complete the payment: On the payment page, “Total Due” shows your ₹250 partial payment and “Amount Due Later” shows the balance. The due date is displayed prominently, together with a disclaimer that the initial payment is non-refundable. The disclaimer also says that if the balance isn’t paid by the due date, customer support will cancel the reservation after confirming with you, and no refund will be issued.
Tapped back before paying?: If you’ve chosen partial payment and tap back before completing the payment, a prompt appears with three options. Continuing with Partial Payment keeps your selection and moves you to the next payment step. Pay Full Amount switches you to full payment. Go Back returns you to the previous screen without making a payment.
After Your Initial Payment
When the ₹250 payment succeeds, a partial payment reservation is created for your IRCTC tour package and the travellers you selected. You can open it from the booking confirmation screen and from the Trips section. Its status shows as “Payment Pending” or “Partially Paid,” and it lists the amount paid, the remaining amount, the final due date, and the cancellation terms. The reservation is treated as confirmed.
To pay the balance, tap “Pay Remaining Amount” on the reservation details page before the due date. Once that payment succeeds, the status changes to “Fully Paid,” your final booking confirmation is issued, and the total amount paid is shown. The remaining amount may reflect changes or adjustments under the package’s payment rules.
Eligibility and Key Conditions
Partial Payment applies only to packages with an initial ₹250 deduction. The package must last no more than 15 days, not counting the departure date. Your journey must start between 15 and 60 days after the booking date.
The balance must be paid at least two days before the earliest date on which cancellation charges apply to the package.
Payment gateway charges of 2.3% apply as usual. EMI offers are not available with Partial Payment.
What Happens If You Miss the Due Date?
You’ll receive reminders before the due date through the configured communication channels. If you reserved an ixigo package with Partial Payment after comparing IRCTC package offers, keep an eye on your due date so you don’t miss the balance payment.
If the balance isn’t paid by the due date, the reservation may be cancelled with your consent, subject to the applicable cancellation policy. Customer support handles the cancellation after confirming with you, and only once the due date has passed (after 11:59:59 PM on that day). The status then changes to “Cancelled due to pending payment,” and the ₹250 initial payment is not refunded. No refund option is offered, and you’ll be told about the cancellation and the non-refundable amount.
Why Should You Choose Partial Payment?
Partial Payment suits travellers who want to reserve an eligible package now and pay most of the cost later. Suppose you’ve shortlisted some of the best deal tour packages; you need only ₹250 at booking, provided Partial Payment is enabled for that package, and your travel dates meet the eligibility rules. The same conditions apply to the best trip package deals.
If you’d rather pay in a single transaction, full payment works exactly as before. For packages where you don’t choose Partial Payment, nothing about the booking or payment process changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is the ₹250 partial payment refundable?
No. The initial ₹250 is non-refundable. It is also not refunded if the reservation is cancelled because the balance wasn’t paid by the due date.
Q. When do I have to pay the remaining amount?
The balance is due at least two days before the earliest date on which cancellation charges apply to your special offer tour package. The exact due date appears on the package details page, the review page, the payment page, and your reservation details.
Q. Is my booking confirmed if I’ve only paid ₹250?
Yes. Your reservation is treated as confirmed once the initial partial payment is completed. After you pay the balance, the status changes to “Fully Paid” and you receive the final booking confirmation.
Q. Can I use EMI with Partial Payment?
No. EMI offers don’t apply to Partial Payment bookings. The usual payment gateway charge of 2.3% applies.
Q. Why don’t I see Part Payment on every package?
Part Payment is enabled for each package individually. It applies only to packages with a ₹250 initial deduction that last up to 15 days (not counting the departure date), where the journey starts more than 15 and no more than 60 days after booking. If a package or your dates don’t meet these conditions, the option won’t be shown.
