You get what you paid for

We wanted a hotel near Gare Lyon. The hotel wasn't cheap, but near Metro station and walking distance to many Paris attractions. The hotel is operated by a family. On the day we arrived, a grandmother was in the kitchen, and we waited for a few minutes till a woman checked us in. Fortunately the hotel had plenty of vacancies. The hotel has no elevator, so it's hustle to climb up on the narrow stairs with a big suite case. Plus, stairs & hallways lights are dark even in day time. You can turn ...
It's great for the price
by Reza S on 26 Jun 2016 (Solo Traveller)
I stayed at Hotel Anya for a week and I would definitely go there again when I am in Paris. The building is old but the room was clean and nice. The staff were extremely friendly ( I think it's a hotel run by a family). It's very cheap for Parisian standards but if you're just looking for a clean room just to sleep at the end of your day exploring Paris, then this is your place. Ok but needs restoration
by Inso D on 07 Jun 2015 (Couple Traveller)
It's ok for the price. Friendly staff, free wifi and hastle free. Good location. But staines on the blankets and broken pieces of furniture could do with some attention. A splash of paint won't hurt ither.
Too expensive for the quality
by Kevin O on 02 Mar 2015 (Solo Traveller)
It was too expensive for the quality of the property. The bathroom/toliet was too small. It was more like a house that was forcely turned into a hotel. It has no elevator and the spiral staircase was scary. The only good thing about it is it is close to a Metro Station and Mcdonalds.
Avoid at all costs

I can't actually address the hotel itself, having never laid eyes on it. I do warn, though, that it engages in shady practices amounting to robbery. I booked a reservation in August of 2013 for the following September--but when I saw it had been booked instead for 2014! I immediately cancelled. A year later, I was charged for the original reservation as if I had been a no-show. The hotel claims to have no record of my cancellation (WHY would anyone book a room a year in advance?). That the hotel...
