Why does the airline/travel website give me a different price than the one shown on ixigo?
 
 
We always try to keep our prices up to date but airline fares change frequently – in particular for flights within the next few days from now. If you find any pricing issues on our site, please let us know by writing to us on bookings@ixigo.com and we will try to fix them as soon as possible.
I have been charged for my flight booking but haven't received a booking confirmation. What should I do?
 
 
Since all bookings made via ixigo are powered by our airline/travel partners, incase of any such issues you will need to contact the booking provider (Cleartrip, Musafir, Yatra, Jet Airways, etc.) directly. They will ask for details such as phone number, email ID, etc. in order to resolve your query. You can find the complete list of provider contact details here.
I cancelled my ticket but haven't received the refund yet. What should I do?
 
 
Processing your refund can take upto 5-7 business days. If you have cancelled your booking directly via the airline then your refund has probably been received by the booking provider (Musafir, Cleartrip, Yatra, etc.). In such a case you will need to contact the provider and ask them to transfer the amount to you. If you cancelled your ticket through the booking provider or ixigo and have not received your refund even after 7 days, please directly contact the booking provider. I have been charged for my flight booking but the transaction has failed. What should I do?
 
 
Since all bookings made via ixigo are powered by our airline/travel partners, incase of any such issues you will need to contact the booking provider (Cleartrip, Musafir, Yatra, Jet Airways, etc.) directly. They will let you know of the final status of your booking. Please do not re-book before getting in touch with them or you may end up booking twice. What is ixigo money?
 
 
1 ixigo money = ₹1
ixigo money is ixigo’s virtual currency. Users can both earn and spend ixigo money on each flight booking. Since there is no limit on how much ixigo money you can spend on one booking, users can use 100% of their ixigo money balance on a single flight booking. The idea is to simplify and speed up your travel bookings, while ensuring you get additional discounts on the prevailing best deal. There are no gimmicks involved!
How do I earn ixigo money?
 
 
There are two ways to earn ixigo money:
  • Book a flight -- make sure to apply the coupon code at the time of making your booking and you will receive your ixigo money as per the running offer within 24 hours.
  • ixigo money voucher -- You can also add ixigo money to your account if you have an ixigo money voucher. In order to add the voucher, select the "ixigo money" option from the main menu of the ixigo website or ixigo flights app and click on "add ixigo money".
There is no other way to manually add ixigo money to your account, apart from an ixigo money voucher which you can obtain only as a part of a promotional offer or reward.
What can I do with my ixigo money balance?
 
 
You can use your ixigo money balance to pay for your flight bookings. Make sure to select the checkbox at the time of booking, before payment to redeem your ixigo money balance. You will get an instant discount on the total booking amount which is equivalent to your ixigo money balance.
When will I receive my ixigo money?
 
 
You will receive your ixigo money within 24 hours of flight booking confirmation, as per the running offer.

How is ixigo different from other travel portals or Online Travel Agents?
 
 
An Online Travel Agent (OTA) is essentially an online retailer that provides tourism related services to the public at large on behalf of suppliers, such as airlines, hotels, car rentals, railways or package tours etc. ixigo.com on the other hand is not a travel agency (or agent). We don’t sell you tickets, or hotel rooms etc. In fact we don’t sell anything at all. You can compare prices and information of travel inventory sourced from our partner(s) online travel agency, airline and hotel websites and book directly with them, using our website or mobile applications. The booking always happens on the provider site (basically a provider of the travel inventory like hotel, flight etc.).
How are prices on ixigo cheaper than all other travel portals?
 
 
ixigo searches directly on airline websites for the best fares sold directly by the airline. Many airlines sell cheapest air-tickets on their own website, protected by a best fare guarantee for these web-fares. So, ixigo will end up finding the cheaper prices on the same airline. In addition, ixigo searches on millions of routes to find the optimal routing for you from a price perspective. Some combination of airlines and stops found on ixigo are definitely unique!
How much does ixigo charge me? Are there any hidden costs?

How can I cancel a train ticket?
 
 
You can cancel a train ticket booked via ixigo, only before preparation of the chart.

Please follow these steps:
On The Web:
Select the menu on the top right hand corner. Go to the 'Bookings' section and select the 'Train' option
On Android and iOS App:
Go to the 'Trips' section from the homepage
  • Select the ticket that you would like to cancel
  • If cancellation is permitted, you will see a 'Cancel booking' option
  • Click on it to choose the traveller(s) for whom you wish to cancel the ticket for and follow the steps
  • After successful cancellation, the refund amount will be credited back to your original mode of payment within 5 days depending on bank rules
How can I cancel a train ticket after the train has departed?
 
 
After the train has departed, you will only be able to cancel your ticket by filing TDR.
  • Select the trip for which you would like to file TDR on the ixigo trains app
  • Scroll down to select the 'File TDR' option
  • Select an appropriate reason for filing TDR
Please note that IRCTC can take upto 60-90 days to complete the entire TDR process.
How much will I be charged for cancellation?
 
 
Depending on ticket type and time of cancelling the ticket, cancellation charges may vary. You can find complete details of the IRCTC cancellation policy and rules here: http://www.indianrail.gov.in/refund_Rules.html
Where can I check my refund status?
 
 
You can check your refund status in the 'Transaction History' section of the app.
On Android:
  • Click on the 3 dot menu on the top right corner of the homepage or open the main menu of the app from the top left hand side
  • Select the 'Transaction history' option where you will be able to see the status of all transactions made on ixigo.
Additionally, you will receive a refund related SMS, e-mail and call post a cancelled or failed booking. In case you do not receive your refund within 5 days, please contact us on trains@ixigo.com with your Booking ID in the subject.
How many days will it take to process my refund?
 
 
The refund will be processed within 5 days. However, actual credit depends on the bank processing time, which varies. Do check with the bank in case the refund is delayed.
Where will I receive my refund?
 
 
You will receive your refund to the original mode of payment via which you made the booking.

Ticket status
How can I check the PNR status of my ticket?
 
 
On The Web:
  • Select the menu on the top right hand corner
  • Go to the 'Bookings' section and select the 'Train' option
On The Android App:
  • Go to the 'My Trips' section from the homepage
On The iOS App:
  • Go to the 'Trips' section from the homepage

  • Select the ticket that you wish to check the PNR status for
  • In the detail section, you will see the current PNR status of your ticket
How do I know the chances of my ticket getting confirmed?
 
 
Our PNR prediction feature predicts the confirmation chances of your Booked tickets. Look for percentage confirmation chances next to the current status of every traveller in the ticket.
How do I forward the status of my ticket to my email/SMS?
 
 
On the Web:
At the end of the Trip detail section, you will find an option to send the ticket status to your email/SMS. You can also take a print of the ticket by selecting the print option.
On The Android App:
You can use the share feature on the PNR detail page
On The iOS App:
You can use the share/screenshot feature on the PNR detail page
How to avail senior citizen discount?
 
 
In case you want to avail the senior citizen discount, you just need to enter the age and if it falls under the senior citizen quota, the discount will be automatically applied. Don’t forget to carry Original ID Proof (Adhaar Card or Voter ID or PAN Card)
I do not have any ID proof. What should I do?
 
 
Senior citizens travelling on concession, who do not produce age proof during journey, will have to pay only the difference of concessional fare paid and non-concessional fare. Penalty will not be charged in such cases.

Miscellaneous
How can I transfer a ticket?
 
 
You will have to make a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. The reservation made in your name can only be transferred to another member of your family: father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband and wife.

How can I book a Ticket?
 
 
You need to have an irctc account in order to book a ticket through ixigo. In case you do not have an IRCTC account, you can register through the ixigo app, post email and contact number verification.
How can I reserve a Berth?
 
 
Berth allotment is the sole discretion of the Indian Railways and providing berth preference at the time of booking doesn’t guarantee a preferred berth.
Forgot IRCTC User ID or Password?
 
 
You can easily get your forgotten user ID from IRCTC by sending a mail at care@irctc.co.in from the registered Email ID which was used while making the account. You can always reset your password by clicking on the RESET link. Once you click on proceed, it will take you to the IRCTC page where you'll need to enter your user details and an email will be sent to your account with a new password.
How can I book ticket in Tatkal?
 
 
Tatkal ticket can be booked after 15 minutes of it starting on IRCTC (10.00 AM and 11.00 AM).
Can I cancel my Tatkal Ticket?

As a travel meta search, ixigo helps you find the best hotel deals. However, we do not book or take direct payments. All bookings are made on various travel sites such as Booking.com, Cleartrip, Agoda, etc. Once you choose a provider of your choice, you will be taken to their website to complete your booking, where you will see various payment options such as credit card, debit card, net banking, etc.
How do I know that my hotel booking is confirmed?
 
 
Once you complete your hotel booking via ixigo on one of our partner websites, they will send you a confirmation email with all your booking details. In case you do not receive this mail please directly contact the booking provider.

How does ixigo cashback work?
 
 
Getting cashback through ixigo is a simple process! Just make sure you have booked through our apps or website to be able to get our cashback.
  • Search, Compare & book hotels via ixigo
  • Login and submit your claim within 7 days of booking
  • ixigo will verify your claim and credit cashback within 45 days of hotel checkout to your Citrus Wallet.
How many times can I get cashback?
 
 
You can get cashback upto 3 times in one calendar month (say from 1st to 31st January). If you have already exhausted your limit of cashbacks for this calendar month, you will be eligible to get your next cashback when the next month starts (in this case, after 1st February).
Is the cashback available on every booking via ixigo?
 
 
No, the cashback is available only on select bus bookings. Wherever a cashback offer is available, it is mentioned against the search result.
When will I receive my cashback?

If you have gotten your cashback for the first time, you must sign up to create your Citrus account within 30 days of cashback credit to ensure it does not expire. Post that your cashback validity does not hold an end date.

If you are not an existing Citrus user, creating a new Citrus account is easy. Simply visit the Citrus website or download the app and follow the instructions to create a new account. Simply search for flights on ixigo Flights app or web and our smart fare alert algorithm, set the fare alerts automatically based on your search and other behavioral data. If you want to manually set a fare alert, you can do the same with a few simple taps.

  • Select the 'Fare Alerts' option
  • Tap on '+' to set a new fare alert
  • Fill in the 'Origin', 'Destination' & 'Journey Date' fields
  • Tap 'Create' and you are done!

How are the flight search results ranked?
 
 
Under the 'cheap' category sorting order, by default flight listings are ranked top-to-bottom based on the their total fare after deducting both the ixigo money you will earn as well as the amount you will spend from your existing balance, on this booking.
What happens to my ixigo money if I cancel my flight tickets?
 
 
Earned Money:
When you cancel a flight ticket, the ixigo money you earned for that transaction will get deducted from your ixigo money account balance. In case your account balance is zero at that time, the balance will become negative. The ixigo money you earn on your next booking(s) will be used to adjust the negative balance.

Redeemed Money:
Your cancellation refund will be transferred to your ixigo money account and bank/wallet, etc. The refund break up will depend on the amount of ixigo money used at the time of making your booking. The amount, up to that paid with your ixigo money balance, will be refunded to you as ixigo money, the rest, if any will be transferred to your bank/wallet, etc. For instance> You booked a flight ticket for Rs.4000 and paid Rs.2000 via ixigo money and Rs.2000 with your debit card. The refund is Rs.2500. You will receive Rs.2000 as ixigo money and Rs.500 will be transferred to your bank account. However, if the refund is Rs.1500, you will receive the entire amount as ixigo money.

Will purchasing a bus ticket online cost more than an offline purchase from a local operator?
 
 
Not at all! The cost of purchasing a bus ticket online is the same as purchasing it from a local bus operator. In fact, in most cases you will earn ixigo money on your booking via ixigo. You can redeem this amount on your future bookings.
Do I need to carry a printout of the ticket during the journey?
 
 
Most bus operators accept SMS or email confirmations as your ticket. Despite this, we would recommend taking a printout of the e-ticket, in order to avoid hassles during the journey. For example, in case of low phone battery or no internet connectivity, a printed ticket will help. Your e-ticket is sent to the e-mail address you provided at the time of booking the ticket.
What should I do in case, I misplace my e-ticket?
 
 
Your e-ticket is sent to the e-mail address you provided at the time of booking the ticket via ixigo. We would recommend taking a printout of the e-ticket while travelling. In case you still can’t locate your e-ticket, please call our customer support for help.
Do I need to carry any ID proof while travelling?
 
 
We would recommend carrying an ID proof while travelling.
How can I contact the bus operator?
 
 
Bus operator details will be mentioned on the e-ticket, emailed to you once you complete your booking.
How do I check the boarding point for my journey?
 
 
You will need to select the boarding point for your journey at the time of booking. After the booking, you can find the boarding point details on the e-ticket or from your trip details on the app.

How can I cancel my bus ticket?
 
 
You can cancel a bus ticket booked via ixigo 3 hours prior to the departure of the bus. This may vary depending on the operator.
To cancel your booking please follow these steps:
  • On the Android and iOS apps, select the 'Trips' option under the 'Bus section'
  • Select the booking that you want to cancel
  • If cancellation is permitted, you will see a 'Cancel booking' option. Click on it.
  • Choose the traveller(s) for whom you wish to cancel the ticket for and follow the steps.
  • After successful cancellation, the refund amount will be credited to the original mode of payment within 7 days, depending on your bank policies.
How much will I be charged on booking cancellation?
 
 
Depending on ticket type and time of ticket cancellation (number of hours prior to bus departure), cancellation charges may vary. You can verify the cancellation charges on the app before proceeding to cancel bus tickets.
How can I check the refund status after cancellation?
 
 
You can check the status of your booking & refund under the trip details section on the ixigo trains app. You will receive a refund related SMS, email and call, post the ticket cancellation or in case of a failed booking. You can earn ixigo money on first 4 flight bookings in a calendar month. Simply make sure to apply the coupon code at the time of making your booking and you will receive your ixigo money as per the running offer within 24 hours of your booking confirmation.

  • Book a flight -- make sure to apply the coupon code at the time of making your booking and you will receive your ixigo money as per the running offer within 24 hours.
  • ixigo money voucher -- You can also add ixigo money to your account if you have an ixigo money voucher. In order to add the voucher, select the "ixigo money" option from the main menu of the ixigo website or ixigo flights app and click on "add ixigo money".
There is no other way to manually add ixigo money to your account, apart from an ixigo money voucher which you can obtain only as a part of a promotional offer or reward.
Is ixigo money given based on no. of passengers or PNR?
 
 
The ixigo money you earn is dependant on a unique booking ID/PNR and not on the number of passengers, number of flights or one-way / return booking.
Where can I check my ixigo money balance?
 
 
You can check your ixigo money balance via your ixigo account. Simply select the "ixigo money" option from the main menu of the ixigo website or ixigo flights app.
What is the validity of my ixigo money?
 
 
Your ixigo money will expire in 75 days from the date of transfer to your account. So if you received Rs.500 ixigo money on 18th April 2018, this amount will expire on 11:59PM 2nd July 2018.

ixigo money earned before 11th April 2018, will expire in 180 days from the date of transfer to your account.

ixigo money earned from 11th to 17th April 2018, will expire in 100 days from the date of transfer to your account.

ixigo money earned as part of a specific promotion/reward campaign may have a variable expiry date as mentioned in the campaign T&Cs.
What can I do with my ixigo money balance?
 
 
You can use your ixigo money balance to pay for your flight bookings. Make sure to select the checkbox at the time of booking, before payment to redeem your ixigo money balance. You will get an instant discount on the total booking amount which is equivalent to your ixigo money balance.
What happens to my ixigo money if I cancel my flight tickets?
 
 
Earned Money:
When you cancel a flight ticket, the ixigo money you earned for that transaction will get deducted from your ixigo money account balance. In case your account balance is zero at that time, the balance will become negative. The ixigo money you earn on your next booking(s) will be used to adjust the negative balance.

Redeemed Money:
Your cancellation refund will be transferred to your ixigo money account and bank/wallet, etc. The refund break up will depend on the amount of ixigo money used at the time of making your booking. The amount, up to that paid with your ixigo money balance, will be refunded to you as ixigo money, the rest, if any will be transferred to your bank/wallet, etc.
For instance> You booked a flight ticket for Rs.4000 and paid Rs.2000 via ixigo money and Rs.2000 with your debit card. The refund is Rs.2500. You will receive Rs.2000 as ixigo money and Rs.500 will be transferred to your bank account. However, if the refund is Rs.1500, you will receive the entire amount as ixigo money.

If you’ve booked a flight before 12th October 2017, rest assured you will be receiving your cashback within 30 days of booking in your Citrus wallet as per the cashback terms & conditions applicable on the day of booking.
Can I transfer my ixigo money balance to my bank account?
 
 
No, you can not transfer your ixigo money balance to your bank account. Even better, you can use your ixigo money balance to pay for your future flight bookings.
