My son and a group of students went here last month, on the recommendation of an agent. Having seen photos the official photos bear no resemblance to reality. The whole group felt badly dissatisfied. All the other reviews seem very much truer to my son's experience. For the money you could do a lot better. I would strongly advise you not to even consider this hotel! The staff were poor as were the stale offerings at breakfast! 😢😢😳
stepping back in time - not in a positive way

we paid 150 euro per night for a standard double room, including breakfast. Staff was ok. Room was very rundown. wallpaper coming down, no plug in bathtub, no separate shower, no shower curtain, nothing to attach the shower head to, so you have to hold in your hand while showering. 10 inch tv (old monitor model) hanging near the ceiling, no remote control, very thin walls. Skip breakfast, very depressive. Go outside and enjoy one of many lovely coffee shops. Location is ok, outside the busy Rial...
Stay away from this place!

Travelling with a group of students, Hotel Basilea was our last stop in a 17 day tour of Italy. This hotel was by far the worst I have ever stayed in, in Venice and in Italy! The service was virtually non-existent, the breakfast offerings were appalling - stale croissants, something that resembled bread with nothing much to add to it and not much in the way of drinks. I was forced to purchase breakfast for my students at a nearby bar/pasticceria. When I complained about the breakfast, I was t...
Stayed at better backpackers than this.

Rooms small and shabby. Breakfast was inadequate and consisted of croissants that were 1-2 days old. At first we thought this was a mistake as we just grabbed a coffee and a croissant and rushed out leaving the croissant on the table it was so stale. We had to purchase our own breakfast. The next day we noticed that that the various breakfast table had plates of uneaten croissants and speaking to other guests they had had the same experience and had to purchase their own breakfast. I then realize...

It was a surprise trip to Italy for my husbands birthday as he never visited Italy I decided to take him to Venice and also a one day trip to Rome on our 4 day trip. Hotel is located literally 5 mins away from the train station, which was very convenient for our trip to Rome as our train was a 6am. We have had a great view from our 2nd floor room, however room itself wasn't great. Shower room tiles were all cracked and sticking out so a bit of a health and safety hazard, not very clean either....
