A charming property in a beautiful quiet location

by marekpetrik2016 on 04 Apr 2016 (Solo Traveller)

The rooms are small, but quite nice and charming. You will be spending most of your time outside anyway. The location is perfect. The village is quiet and only 10 minutes (by car) from Chamonix. I also enjoyed breakfast buffet. The internet connection can be a bit choppy but fast enough for a Skype call and great for email.

Simple traditional family run chalet

by beachesdude on 25 Feb 2013 (Couple Traveller)

Small room and bathroom, but quaint, with lovely views and clasic mountain chalet feel. Wasnt sure about it at first, but this place really grew on us over the weekend. Very good breakfast in lovely breakfast room, would like to try the family cooked dinner next time. Good value, good option for ski weekend in wonderful chamonix valley. Having a car essential, with one you are very well placed between Argentiere and Chamonix Read the information page they give you at check in, useful info. for y...

Charming and well worth it

by Penguin96822 on 19 Feb 2013 (Family Traveller)

The place is quietly situated in a village right in the centre of the Chamonix valley, extremely well located for the slopes. The staff are lovely, the breakfast plentiful and the room was very cozy. The only caveats are that you need to have snow tyres to make it up safely to the hotel in the snow (which our rental car wasn't equipped with) and the Internet access was spotty (but the owner says they are upgrading it). I'd come back if we return to Chamonix.

Strange but true

by cham0is on 05 Jul 2010 (Solo Traveller)

Lovely place, very quiet, nice terrace with great views BUT my room was not bigger than a broom cupboard and the bathroom smaller than the one I got onboard on a ship (EasyCruise). At dinner time strong smells of food coming from the kitchen or dining room downstairs invaded my room. The noise during the night was very disturbing, I could hear people talking, coughing, walking… The icing on the cake was that my toilet was equipped with a waste disposal unit operated by a very loud engine, eac...

Felt more like a night camping

by RoamingJerome on 03 Mar 2010 (Friends Traveller)

If you are like my friends and I, and are looking for an alternative to the Swiss and French ski resorts that mandate 7 nights lodging in order to enjoy their towns, you are liking finding this hotel just outside of Chamonix in Le Lavancher. We were looking for a simple one night stay, and we got that w/ Hotel Beau Soleil. The upsides are that it is located very close to both Chamonix and the slopes that make up Chamonix, most notably Les Grands Montets. This is not a place to stay for nightli...
