Great Location & Meets Basic Needs
by Busterx on 21 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)
Visited on 16th January till 20th with my partner & other friends who also stayed in the same hotel. I'll start by saying 'you get what you pay for'. Roughly for 5nights the price can vary between £180-£280 depending on season. Hotel Beurstraat equips you with the bare minimum; a bed, shower, toliet, table, clothes rack, stool & 1 power outlet. However, for these low prices you shouldn't be expecting much by way of luxuries (kettle, tv, drawers, a mattress with springs, hairdryer etc). Although...

I have been visiting this hotel a few times at the beginning of the 70's. I did spend 3 nights there in August 2016 , and it is still the same. No frills, just convenient and cheap (compared to other hotels in Amsterdam). All rooms are different, but most (all) of them are very noisy (due to its perfect location). They are towels and soap, but bring shampoo if needed.
smelly and dirty

Try to avoid it , the price is too much for what it is , rather sleeping in the station , cold , old, smelly and dirty , no elevator , staff unfriendly , just stayed 2 nights and kept luggage stored .
Far better 1*hostels to stay

Stayed here for 3 nights. First impressions were bad - guy who checked us in looked like resident drug dealer. We stayed in room 104, the corridors smelt of damp and musty. Then up a steep wooden staircase to our room. Room was very basic - 3 hard beds with a worn blanket over the top. The crazy thing was our room only had 1 plug socket that was placed half way up the wall and that was shifty, wasn't always powering. Being 3 girls with mobile chargers n straighteners, wasn't good. We reported it...
Clean and simple

Best place to stay in Amsterdam Central for this value. stay here and spend you manoy for entertainment :) Room was clean and quiet. Employees were always helpful. You may want to take a hair dryer with you, since there isn't any in the room. And there is only one power outlet, better to have a multiplier with you to charge multiple devices at once..
