Good location, friendly staff

by Rastko P on 21 Sep 2016 (Solo Traveller)

The hotel is midle range, but the staff is very helpfull and friendly. It is located in old town of Veliko Turnovo and you can easily go on foot to the centar of town (new town). Also there are a few historical places near hotel Boliari. Next to it there is a Archeology Museum, less then 2 minutes there is Tsarevets Fortress and in 5-6 minutes of walk you can visit the “Holy 40 martyrs” monastery/museum (a MUST SEE for everybody who is comming from Serbia because St. Sava, Fisrt Serbia Archbisho...

Avoid it at any cost

by Mihai D on 01 May 2016 (Family Traveller)

We made reservations for 2 rooms on booking.com, for 2 families. There was no option for children so we didn't expect anything to go wrong but it did. Upon checkin the "helpful staff" didn't want to allow us to stay because "they don't have rooms for children" even if we had a 2 years old... Finally she accepted us but charged us extra even if she gave us the same rooms, that actually had sofas for a third person (didn't use it, too dirty). The rooms are really dirty, towels are full of red stai...

Good location, nice stuff

by Simona9527 on 10 Dec 2015 (Business Traveller)

I am really amused by Hotel Boliari. The stuff is friendly and ready to help all around the clock. The location is perfect for those who won't mind to walk, but there's no problem to get there by bus nor car.

Central but quiet

by Vlad_Inh on 23 Oct 2015 (Friends Traveller)

This hotel is on a bow-shaped road which starts and finishes on the main road above it. It is a bit hard to find but is very quiet even though it is close to the centre. Parking did not seem to be a problem. I seem to remember that reception spoke rudimentary English. The room was fine, and it has a balcony which will be where smokers indulge themselves. The shower was not "open" as is common in Bulgaria, definitely a plus-point. Wifi was unencrypted, the signal strong. The breakfast was unin...

Bad Experience

by Tihomir Z on 24 Sep 2015

Hello! I would like to share with you my negative impression with the Bolyari hotel in Veliko Tarnovo. We had a reservation for the national holiday - 22.09.2015 and we have specifically asked to have a reserved parking spot. It turned out, without any warning, that the town was closed due to the celebration and the hotel, that located in the city center, was unreachable. After calling the manager or owner (I am unsure) of the hotel - Mrs. Koleva, she said: “ Just park your car in the paid park...
