Great staff but a few issues

by NinaLeedskobo on 12 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Liked the old building with modern interior idea but the actual artwork was not my thing at all (I prefer classical artwork). Room was nice but had a noise problem from the courtyard that the window overlooked. Everything seemed to echo. Bed was good though and wife told me the toiletries in the bathroom were first class. Staff are great here. They make a real effort to help out where they can and seemed to enjoy their work. Main issue for us was that we had looked forward to using the rooftop a...

So welcoming

by Tonika R on 15 Dec 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Great hotel, with the most wonderfully warm and welcoming staff. We were met by Fernando, who had the warmest smile and sincere kindness and helpfulness to ensure we had a great stay at Convent de Lan Missio. And we certainly did. Our room was comfortable, with an added bonus of a balcony/terrace. This afforded us with a view of the nearby St Michael church, along with the original sloped convent roof, creating an atmosphere of calmness and serenity. The hotels spa is a must. And it is booked f...

Peaceful, friendly and aesthetically beautiful

by johnminnion on 07 Dec 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Our second stay at this hotel was every bit as good as the first, one year ago. It is both historic and modern, thanks to the top quality conversion by an architect/designer with a superb eye, taste and attention to detail. It is thoroughly peaceful, as befits a convent. We didn't try the 'Simply Fosh' menu - it looked expensive - but I would give the hotel top marks for the leisurely breakfasts and for the very helpful staff who clearly enjoy working there. On return to England I found an emai...

Warm and Friendly

by PTS99 on 18 Nov 2016

The hotel is an historic catholic mission, converted ten years ago. The interior is very modern, yet retains the original ancient ceilings and main doors. The result is visually stunning. We received a warm welcome and were escorted to a very spacious room, which was airy, with lots of light natural wood, modern décor and both a shower and a large stand-alone bath. The latter, somewhat surprisingly, sat near the middle of the room, affording a clear view of the large LED TV! Plenty of TV channel...

17th Century Missionary Building

by Simonsworld14 on 15 Nov 2016

15 minutes from the Airport in the Centre of the Commercial Shopping zone. The Hotel is in a 17th Century building that once trained Missionaries. These days the former "Cells" have been converted to modern bedrooms that are beautifully decorated and quiet despite the busy location. We were greeted by Fernando who provided us with excellent Restaurant suggestions and even organised our eBike rental - brilliant service. The Hotel is also home to 'Simply Fosh,' a Michelin starred restaurant. We en...
