I guess it was cool and all because it was such a popular hotel back in the day but if you are expecting a 3-star experience, don't get your hopes up. The hotel is run down and in need of repair at every corner. That being said, it is a true Cuban icon and the service and staff were very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't stay again only because there are so many casa particulars available and we just fell in love with the local experience we get from staying at a private house. Also, everythi...

Im greatful I got to experience Cuba!! It is an incredible country and beautiful people. The culture is so rich and colorful. The hotel is another story. This is definitely not luxury. The rooms a moldy, the pool is anout 3 feet deep. The people and the hotel staff were fantastic but were not able to do anything about the status of the hotel. The bread was stale, food stored overnight to be reused in the morning, and there were cockroaches, dead and alive everywhere. The bread bowl, d...
Nice experience at Hotel Copacabana

Our group was very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The lobby and pool are great. The staff are friendly and helpful. The doorman was very warm and friendly as well. Our family was pleased with the breakfast and the kids loved the pizza place next door. Everyone in the city knew of this hotel, which made it easier (given the language barriers) to get to and from our hotel. It was a good place to stay given the 30 people in our group and activities planned.

Copacabana looks like once upon a time it was the place to be. We only went for a drink/lunch (didn't stay at the hotel). There are beautiful views, drinks were good and very reasonably priced and the food was average. The buildings look like they have seen better days and need a bit of attention.

Well, in spite of undeniable flaws, first of all the just occasionally working elevator, with the ensuing need to use the stairs, crumbling and dimly lighted, even with heavy baggage, I'm giving this hotel a positive review, better said, a not-negative one...acceptable food, freindly staff, which is not always the case in La Habana, quiet room. An accomodation far better than more expensive ones.
