An excellent place to stay in Capetown

by HildaNorthWales on 03 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

We arrived to check in at The Charles after a very long journey from the UK. We were rather surpised to be shown to a house at the other end of the street - De Waterkant House. However, our basement room was spacious with an excellent shower room and there was a lounge that we could sit in and a small plunge pool with sunbeds and seating outside. Charles who had checked us in was charming throughout our short stay and was delightful to talk to regarding various areas of Capetown and his love of ...

A very disappointing accomodation

by fdelfabb on 03 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

We booked a 3 bedroom apt for our family of 5. Apartment was a good 7-10 min walk away from reception, which was the only place with wifi. An accomodation that does not offer wifi these days is really poor. Not to mention the absence of any air conditioning system. With 32 C outside this proved to be very unconfortable! One of the bathrooms ceiling was covered in mould. The other one had water leaking through the wall into the bedroom. Bedroom overlooked the yard with a small pool which was visi...

Great location in Cape Town

by mauricgn on 25 Dec 2016 (Friends Traveller)

The Waterkant is a great solution for those interested to stay in a quite area and close to everything in Cape Town. We stayed in a beautiful apartment located in Loader street, booked with Franklycape.com. Everything was ok, the house was well equipped, clean and we had a wonderful view on the Waterfront area. Plus, we had the garage, very important in the village. The whole village is safe, with guards in every street corner. And prices are competitive! Really enjoyed my stay there and I hope...

My initial impressions were good, partly because of the warm reception. This was however, the noisiest accommodation that I have ever stayed in during my travels to more than 90 countries around the world. If it wasn't the late night noise from the Waterkant Cafe across the road that kept me awake, then it was the constant loud chatter of the security guards through the rest of the night along with the incessant sound of alarms and security communication systems Also, during the 9 nights that I ...

Last time I take a recommendation from this friend

by chibber_09 on 28 Aug 2016 (Business Traveller)

5 of us traveling together for work. We booked a 2 bedroom and a 3 bedroom place. Pros: The 2 stars are mostly for location, but the one staff person we met was nice and the apt we were in on Loder st was fairly clean. Also we were able to drop our bags off at reception in the morning and when we got back in the evening they had moved them to our rooms which was nice Cons: Where shall I start. This place was recommended to us by a co-worker. We will not be taking her advice again. 1) the ...
